    Thanks for all the help, Lsdmeasap.

    I've made an improvised NB cooler by hot gluing a 50 mm fan to the Gigabyte passive heatsink - 2.49 plus a dot of hot glue. Gone over to SATA DVD-ROM and DVD-RW drives; now only the HD remains IDE.

    Decided on an ATI 4670 - no extra power connectors, within budget, and will destory the old 6800 GT AGP I'm selling off ;).

    Ya know, if you continue to have IDE issues and want to keep your IDE drive you could get a IDE to SATA Adapter and try one of those out. They are pretty cheap ($1-8) on ebay from China, if you need a link to some suggested ones let me know
