Guys if you dont mind can you please post how long your x58ud5 system takes to boot/shutdown/sleep/wakeup. Using Vista 64. Compared to my evga680i it is alot slower.
    Thank you

Here, use this tool to check your reboot times. Close all applications and run this, when your system reboots it will run again, accept it and it will provide you the reboot time.

Here is my x64 Vista SP2, UD4P BIOS F9c. Sorry not UD5, but same really aside from a few options.

If you want, use my Vista registry tweak file posted here. Then redo your times test after a reboot after you apply the reg file. Times will be greatly improved. You of course must be using the latest BIOS so you have AHCI 1.20E
    Code:

See here for info on the included changes and notes if you want some info and do not know how to look at or edit .reg files >>

I could tell you sleep/resume times but it would not be any scientific time, and I don't have a stopwatch handy either... So I left that out for now.

Are you having issues with something maybe stalling your shutdown or what?

So any results with the above script Shaned? Just wondered what your times were and if you used my reg file or not, and if so what your times were after that

OUCH that is LONG!! No way that is true as 10151 seconds is 2.5+ hours

How much better was it after you used the reg tweaks? Or did you? I can make a uninstall reg file if you do not like the changes, I did note in the thread I linked what all changes are made by it if you was unsure.

The script for reboot times does not install, it will only run that one time when you start it and after you reboot once. That's it. You can move it to a folder and save it or delete it, but it's not installed ever or anything.

What all do you have loading at start? Or is it mainly your shutting down that is slow? If it is shutting down please do try out the reg tweak file as it will help a lot

LSD is that reg file only for X58 or is it just a Vista tweak for any setup?

Edit - My system at 4.05ghz 94 sec. with LSD's boot time.

Any Vista, you can look at the contents and or edit/remove some of them if you like. The link I gave above I noted out what the changes/tweaks included are. This link they are posted in
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/ex58...tml#post314040

That Script for boot time I found on DeviantArt, but the reg file I wrote up myself
