This is the picture of the EP35C-DS3R ..

Just for an extra verification , those in the picture are the 5-6 pins ? !

Yes, the painted on yellow dot is at the #1 pin, as is the solid triangle on the motherboard.
Pin numbering increments in a counter-clockwise direction, so you've correctly circled the #5 and #6 pins on the MAIN bios (M_BIOS) chip.

    Hello,

Thanks a lot lsdmeasap and tgun because you saved my M/B.
I have an EP35C-DS3R (2.1) and for some reasons, last flashing to F5b did not work.
After reboot, 1 long beep from buzzer and no screen, then endless reboots.

    Some additional information.
I did try the trick with shortnening pins 5+6 with a screwdriver, it did not work first.
Either powering on and removing once powered on, or leaving it shortened after several reboots.
Then I decided to make a clear cmos, both by removing the battery (1 min is enough, according to manual, I left it 5) and also by shortening CMOS jumper.
After that, I rebooted without doing anything else and my M/B resurrected.
I cannot say which bios it used because it was on splash screen and I had not time to see but immediately after, I entered the bios and Q-flash and reflashed to F5b again.
Now it seems to work fine.

While testing, I only kept one stick of memory and the graphic card. No add-in cards plugged, neither HDD/CD nor floppy.

Thank you again guys, you saved my beloved M/B.

The methods described in this thread will allow you to recover a P55. But I suggest you first try this method instead to manually invoke the Dual BIOS Recovery.

See end of second post here
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...ash-guide.html

It is possible to make the BIOS Auto-Recovery kick in (Dual BIOS) and re-flash the MAIN BIOS with the contents of the BACKUP BIOS.

This is a simple and easy method for anyone to try before having to resort to other more difficult methods, or a RMA.

    1. Shut off the power supply using the switch on the back of the PSU, wait 10-15 seconds.
    2. Press and hold the case Power On swtich, then while still holding turn on the power supply from the switch on the rear.
    3. Still holding the case power on switch, the board will start, once it does release the case power on switch and shut off the power supply via the switch on the read of the unit. (Do the latter two parts as quickly as you can once the board starts)
    4. The board will shut down.
    5. Turn the power supply back on using the switch on the rear of the unit.
    6. Turn on the motherboard by pressing the case power on button.

Once the board starts this time you should see the Gigabyte splash screen, or POST page, then the Auto-Recovery from Dual BIOS will kick in. You will see a checksum error, and then recovery from BACKUP BIOS will begin. Once it is done reboot your machine and enter the BIOS and load optimized defaults then save/apply/reboot back to BIOS.

Now you are done, and will be using whatever BIOS was in your BACKUP BIOS, From there you can attempt whatever you were previously trying, or update your BIOS to the latest version.

    Nice to hear!

So you got your board working again? If so, and I hope so, great! Which method ended up working for you?
