    Thanks for the quick reply and information. Looks like what profJim is telling me to do will get me pretty close to Conners settings. I'll try bracking in. Somewhere along the line somebody (unnamed) gave me guidance on the MCH Core setting @ 1.28V - that is probably causing some problems?! Ill try reducing it to 1.22, raise the Vcore a notch and increase the DRAM voltage to 2.08V.

    Set me straight on Load Line Calibration - I read a long detailed study by someone somewhere and it said that Enabling Load Line Calibration on the motherboard defeated the Load Line Calibration that is built into the Intel CPU. He had all kinds of data showing the conflict. You guys seem to make me want to Enable it?

    Also, back to my sleep/wake up quest - Conners did you ever get past my 3.73GHz barrier? Do we thing getting very stable at 3.9GHz will help that issue?

    I did Ken, I finally reached 4.25 GHz (500 FSB0 stable, but it took me about a month of changes and testing to get there.

    Like the fool I am I am now trying for 510 FSB but it's looks to be a long journey for just 10 MHz and probably not even worth it except to say I did it. I do have a cpuz validation for 4.33 GHz but can't run P95 for more than about 10 minutes. (was 8 LOL)

    There are advantages and disadvantages to enabling LLC. The debate rages on.
    I'm not in favor of LLC, as it allows cpu voltage spikes that can't occur when LLC is disabled.
    I'll search for the links where this is discussed in a not too technical way and post them here. Hopefully others will post links before I do.

    Here are the latest "good" BIOS settings. All that I changed was the Vcore was increased one increment to 1.31875V, the MCH Core was reduced to 1.22V and the DRAM was increased to 2.06V. I ran Prime95 for 7+ hours at 3.825GHz or 450 FSB. No errors.

    I then increased the FSB to 459 and booted up Vista. It ran for a while and then the system hung.

    I then increased the Vcore one increment to 1.3250V, increased the CPU Termination to 1.24V and increased the DRAM to 2.08V. Booted Vista and the system blue screened.

    Changed the System Memory Multiplier to 2.00B and decreased the DRAM voltage to 2.04V. System would not boot??!!

    We're hovering around Conner's 3.9GHz settings except he has all defined voltages instead of "Auto"?

    To do so follow these instruction I got from another post I made.
    1. Change CPU Termination from 1.22v to the default of 1.200v
    2. Change the CPU Referennce from Auto to the default 0.760v
    3. Change the MCH Reference from Auto to the default .0.760v
    4. Change the CPU Termination from the default 1.200v to 1.220v
    5. Change the Dram Voltage from 2.060 to the default value of 1.800v? <-- in the bios it will show up in white
    6. Change the MCH/DRAM Reference form Auto to the default value 0.900V? <-- in the bios it will show up in white
    7 Change the DRAM Termination form Auto to the default value 0.900V? <-- in the bios it will show up in white
    8 Change the Dram Voltage from default value 2.00? to 2.060v? <-- in the bios it will show up in white
    Once you made the changed test test test and post your entire corrected bios and make any changes to the default values so their accurate. A peep one told me that accuracy isn't important, it's everything.

    Follow Conners steps exactly!!
    I have some additional possible recommendations, but we don't want to change too many things at one time.
    Make accurate notes about any issues, such as:

    • How much time elapsed since you booted?
    • What programs were running at the time of the error?
    • What were the specific error messages or codes?

    You risk file or data corruption if you just poke around in windows.
    You need to run stress tests to try and "break" your system.
    As soon as you boot into windows, create a "diagnostic" screen-shot that includes:

    1. two cpuz screens: CPU and Mainboard
    2. ET6 with the advanced tuner voltage "sliders"
    3. Memset using the SPD and ">>" tabs
    4. Temperature and voltage monitoring, such as HWmonitor, RealTemp, CoreTemp, etc.

    I'm back. I kept the machine at 450 so it would not crash while making a screen shot! The system would crash at different times depending on how it felt at the time. It actually ran OCCT for 4 or 5 minutes before it got a Core 2 error and then the old blue screen as soon as I moved the mouse. It seems like I get the blue screen almost every time I try different "random" voltage settings. This dog won't hunt beyond 3.85GHz! I have not tried running it at 460 with the new settings. I will do that shortly.
