    I'm back. I kept the machine at 450 so it would not crash while making a screen shot! The system would crash at different times depending on how it felt at the time. It actually ran OCCT for 4 or 5 minutes before it got a Core 2 error and then the old blue screen as soon as I moved the mouse. It seems like I get the blue screen almost every time I try different "random" voltage settings. This dog won't hunt beyond 3.85GHz! I have not tried running it at 460 with the new settings. I will do that shortly.

    Another screen shot with the system running at 3.91GHz! I never got this far so it looks like we're getting close.

    If references were only set to default at 1.2v than there's no change in the settings yet.

    Fellas,

    Made the change to CPU Reference (0.797V) and was all set for a successful test since Vista seemed to be stable. However, Prime95 ran for about 1 second and blue screened! Tried to reboot Vista and it hung on the initial start up screen. Change BIOS back to FSB 450 with all the latest Voltage settings. Prime95 off and running with no problems. I'm beginning to wonder if I got a memory problem since it seems like no matter what gets changed at FSB 460 I get blue screens?

    Set lower memory multiplier timings on auto and get it out the equasion.

    Chike,
    Been there, done that, and it don't work. For some reason when I lower the Memory Timing to 2.00B the system will not boot. I get the infamous Gigabyte RED window in the BIOS. That seems strange that the system will not boot at the lower setting but then...lots of stange things are happening around 460.

    I did try setting the Advance Timing Contol settings back to 4-4-48-68-4 and Prime95 ran for a couple of minutes (up to test 4) @FSB 460 and then the system hung - it did run for a few minutes, does that tell us anything? I suppose I can increase the FSB slowly from 450 at the latest settings and find out exactly where the system becomes unstable?

    When you lower multiplier you will usually have to increase tRD, and there's the D strap too.

    Sorry, I did not understand you until I re-read your comment. I have set all the memory stuff to "Auto" and that has an impact. Prime95 is running and it is up to test 9 (and still running) so it appears the less stress there is on the memory the longer it will run at FSB 460 or 3.91GHz.

    When you satisfied with the CPU OC you can get to memory optimization
