Thread: UD3R plus GTX 260

    Default UD3R plus GTX 260

I know this is not the proper forum for this subject, but nobody ever visits the video card section and evga's forum is full of mean, rude, helpless people.

I have read all the GPU overclocking guides around, i know its super simple to do, but my EVGA GTX 260 SC 55nm refuses to OC.

It wont even allow the core clock up from 626 to 650 without finding artifacts in atitool. I know the core speed to memory speed rule of double at least.

I've used Precision tool 1.7 and now have 1.8, works the same both ways. Has anybody ever bought a card that will not overclock at all? I mean i see everywhere people doing 700 plus core clock, im not expecting this and know all cards will clock differently.

Its not overheating. Not even close, wont pass 70 degrees.

Anybody else encounter a simlilar situation or maybe know of something im missing?

my two work great at 700-1500-1200 in sli. I've used both precision and rivatuner, doesn't really matter which. Your problem might be if your ocing the memory much past 1200 which seems to be a general limit. Most will do a core of 650, beyond that it really just depends on the chip, some won't go past it while other will do 750.

also make sure you unlink the core and shader clock you might be pushing the shaders to far. I got the reference stock evga gtx 280 and have it clocked to 691 core 1458 shader 1215 memory

Everything is unlinked. I tried overclocking them one at a time. Nothing wants to cooperate. Stock core is 626, wont do 650. Stock memory clock is 1053, wont even do 1075. I turn off as many backround programs possible , something just aint right here. Is it possible the card simply is not overclockable?

using precision try keeping the core and shader linked OC to 640 or so, take the memory clock controller and put it even or slightly less. Try keeping everything porportional this way.

I hate rude forums, and know quite a few so I know what you mean!!

Have you also thought of adding Motheboard ICH Voltage to core and I/O? Sometimes this help especially with the larger cards
