    Exclamation Re: X48 DQ6 E0 E8500 at 4085Mhz

    Practical limit for 24/7?

Want to get a fan controller, and mount more fans, particularly on power part of heatpipe, and maybe even SouthBridge (Want to keep systemps low?).

tRFC of 48 gives lower everest at these settings than 52. Does MCH clock skew have any effect what ram timings can be set?

Shifted the graphics card to lower slot to see if it would affect temps, but cant pick anything. The ChillFactor2 paste seems to have a curing time, because temps improved slightly over the week.

Only six hours showing here. No problems over a week of random activity, feels great. Yes, i kno it's useless till 24hrs plus showing, so very soon.

Have to thank all for hints, tips and advice so far.

If u think any setting looks dodgy, ...? (See chart in post somewhere above)

Have 22 hours of Prime up on 4.313GHz. It will be "finished" (a 24 hour run), at midnight, 105 minutes to go. Not nervous at all. Not at all.

Just for a laugh - http://www.intel.com/support/processors/tools/piu/sb/CS-014921.htm to download this...

Prime95 testing was stopped at 37 hours for 4.313GHz.
When Prime is running CPU-Z says 1.328v

    True.

Never really tested that 4085 to stability. Even think stock settings may not be exceptionally stable.

GTLs a bit magic. Why do they hide them? No more risky than mch or fsb overvoltage.

30c ambient again. rebooted to blue screen "Page fault in non-paged area", and rebooted again to bluescreen "hardware failure".

    Google said ram.

Maybe irrational, but increased dimm voltage, rather than have lower settings. Booted and all fine. That's at 1090MHz.

Ram has the Corsair fans, but not rated for 2.2v (2.18 in Everest)

How likely is it that this voltage could damage the ram any time soon?

If it does die, will just replace it, hopefully with something genuinely better.

About the only thing I could find on ic chips here:

Tall GSkill Pi series heat spreaders would obscure True120 fan worse than Corsair. Does this make much diff. to cpu temps?

Noticing some ddr2 no longer available, discontinued.

What was the error code 0x00000000?

I don't think the heatspreader would limit your air intake, it would still suck in the same amount and could actually improve the ram temps as it force more air to move around the heatsinks with them being "in the way"

You have a lot of ram into and questions up there, not sure what you are asking or even what ram you are now using due to your links?

    Ram = 2x2gig Corsair Dominator 8500C5DF-G (2.40B strap, 1090MHz, 5-5-5-15 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) /9-52-4-6-3-3 (RD-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR-RTP) [Powerchip ic's]

How likely is it that 2.2 volts could damage the ram any time soon? (Rated at 2.1v)

That's my other question, but open to suggestion. Sorry I didn't note the BSOD error number.

Hmm, well it could damage them but not sure about a time frame. Do you have a fan over them? I always suggest this if using 2.2V, it will increase the life expectancy this way

why 2.2V, did you think that is what is required for stability? Seems a bit high being that you are only a few Mhz past stock specs. Is this tRD 9? If so, you may be able to use 7-8 did you try yet?

+0.2 or 0.15 FSB may also help and may allow you to use less vdimm
