I'm running the latest beta BIOS posted here in the forum and using Windows 7 x64 RC. I thought that it might be the OS also, so I tried using XP on a different hard drive and it does the same thing. I also thought it might help to bypass shutdown in the Windows start menu, so I used a command line straight to shutdown.exe--no change.

Well, thanks for the help on that. I'm going to email Gigabyte tech support and see what they suggest.

Let us know what they tell you about this, thanks

Your strange sound issues (Meaning noise issues) is likely DPC Latency issues. That can be caused by any number of things such as hardware, programs, drivers, settings, ect. You would need top run DPC latency checker to verify that, but sounds like it exactly to me. To resolve this you would need a clean install and separate hardware, all separate such as GFX Cards, Drives, Ect but I would suspect it to be either a hard drive or your GFX Card or driver

Legacy USB Storage detect disable can help with this, as can removing DES (Dynamic Energy Saver) and disabling EIST and C1E. But if your issues are caused by anything else above instead then these changes would not have any effect

As for your reboot issue, not sure I would let them know and see what they can test and find

Update: I got a new board with the same revision and everything and it works great. Absolutely no double boots, and it shuts down fine. Like the other board, the audio issues are still there with C1E enabled and lessened with it disabled, but I don't mind.
