You may want to make sure the ram or board are not defective first.
I'd start with those settings, DRAM Voltage 1.8-1.9v (if not already set to 1.9v, check HW Monitor) one stick at a time in slot 1, then 3 (2 & 4 too if you want).
Then try dual channel, increasing MCH Core in steps if needed (not sure what steps your board has,) up to 1.24-1.26v. Some memory modules require less MCH Core 1.05v or even less.

Ok, easytune HW monitor had 1.920v for my ram, so i've set my drm voltage to 1.92 volts and changed my MCH to 1.26v

It has booted first time which is awesome so i'm guessing at stock settings this is good. I'll try running a memtest to find out.

HWmonitor, i notice my cpu voltage fluctuats between 1.12v - 1.168 volts

The HWMonitor(CPUID) program in windows? The difference between idle and load vcore, called vdroop, is normal behaviour with LLC(Load Line Calibration) disabled, and can be up to 0.1v difference, usually it is around 0.05v difference.

    Memtest went great, no errors.

So i can certainly find table settings at 1.92v DRAM and 1.26 MCH

I want to be able to overclock to about 3.2ghz.

what should I do next to begin the process of achieving this?

    With 400FSB or 355?
With 400FSB memory may be easier to set.
Set voltages to their default values shown in BIOS. Reference voltages can be left auto. Set PCI-E frequency manually to 100.
Try 400FSB with CPU Ratio 6(2.4GHz, no CPU overclock yet) and memory multiplier 2.00D and make sure memory settings are still stable.
In addition to memtest86+ you can run Prime95 blend test, or not in-place large FFT (click in-place large FFT, then custome and clear the "Run FFT in-place" checkbox and OK to begin the torture. You can set "Max FFT size" to 2048 or 4096)

If all goes well you can increase CPU Ratio, with the nesessary adjusments to vcore and other voltages.

EDIT: BTW what CPU heatsink do you use and what is the CPU stepping?

I don't mind if the ram stays at 800mhz, obviously more is better but i'm a gamer and my ghz are worth more :)

One point to make, it is strange but games seem to play with minimal stutter but the into to some games are a little stuttery and especially Farmville on facebook.

While im using the application the cursor moves, but then stops, then moves again. It never used to do this, but when it has in the past, it has made the system unstable.

I'll try what you said, should i turn off eist and the other options?

EDIT: i'm using the same fan as what came with the CPU. The case has 2 other large fans right next to it. So it's a nice cool case it seems.

Stepping B Revision G0 is what cpuz says.

using a blend test whcih is running right now, i checked hw monitor on easytune and cpu is at 62C full load. more than i expected i suppose. Will try the 400 fsb soon.

Everything seems to be ok at 400fsb. I haven't changed any cpu voltages since its the same 2.4ghz.

I changed the eist, virtualization and the other settings about VIDs off. Left reference son auto and changed everything else to their stock settings.

I'll give it 20 mins or somehting on prime 95 to make sure this is stable.

    If so, what next?

btw, really appreciate this, it's been a real headache past 2 weeks.

Next is increasing ratio and cpu speed i guess, though the stutter is something that need to be looked at.
62c in EasyTune mean 67-70something core temps.
I strongly advise you to consider an aftermarket heatsink before continuing with overclocking, the G0 cores should be kept under 70c for 24/7 use and best kept below 65c.

i'm doing 2.8ghz now with no change on the cpu vcore or ram.

Any idea what the stuttering could be at all?

i will keep an eye on temps under 100% load
