    After your re-flash, did you:
    1) load Optimized bios settings.
    2) save settings and exit.
    3) re-enter the bios, make changes, save settings and exit.
You must load Optimized bios settings every time after your flash, save settings & exit, and then make your bios changes after you've re-entered the bios.

Stable bios settings from a previous bios version might need additional tweaking for stability with the new bios version.

**edit** To access the bios on your hard drive, the partition must be formatted to FAT16 or FAT32. This applies to USB drives also.
This isn't an issue with a standard floppy drive format. I've flashed many times from a floppy or FAT32 hard drive partition.

Question 1 yes I did load optimised defaults
    Quest 2yes
Question 3 I reentered BIOS and set the RAM volts and rebooted back to BIOS to change additional settings like AHCI drive mode and other BIOS settings. after the BSOD I did clear the CMOS and loaded optimised defaults again then booted once for RAM settings and then again for hard drive and other settings. Everything seems to work OK now. No I have not gotten to overclocking just yet as I am working on the baseline recording according to the overclock guide.
As for the BIOS saving to hard drive, I need to create a Fat 32-16 partition and then save to that partition from the BIOS correct? just choose the save to hard drive option I believe. So thank you for advice.

latest update: I used a partition program to create a FAT 32 partition but it is not visible in the Qflash utility at all just the floppies, both types (USB too). I think I need a non AHCI hard drive in the system in order to use the save to HD function. I recall that Xpress recovery does not work with AHCI too. Anyhow, I am trying small steps in OCing the board and will take one Ram stick out if it helps get started in OCing board. tried a big leap but that did not work and machine kept rebooting three times. But I cleared the CMOS and reset BIOS after loading optimised defaults, of course. Attempting to test temps while OCing. Also lookin at hooking up a small fan, that I got with the Scythe Mugen 2, to the MCH.
10-08-09 Update Once I increased the Vcore to above 1.26, The machine stopped beeping upon reboot and OC d to2.4GHz so far, not 3.4 sorry for the misprint Testing with orthos and next will be prime 95. So was the OC error message really just a low Vcore value? Also the single beep that I had before was because the CPU fan was slow to start spinning and the BIOS setting that detects fan failure stepped in the alert me w/single beep. So at boot up I had a normal beep and the extra beep for the fan.
I will ask LS the next time I see him. about the low Vcore causing the OC warning that was the point of this thread.
10-10-09 Update FYIUpdated my Signature to reflect all changes and model numbers. I did not figure how to wrap the html code to save space, just curious about that though.

Hi again I need to apply the small fan to the South bridge or MCH for further overclocking. I am looking at a hot melt glue gun or velcro tape. The velcro tape will be the most logical choice now as I will be purchasing some for another project. I have zip ties but there is no place to attach the zip ties(no holes). Any help will be appreciated on attaching the fan Regarding the blue screen errors I may need to update the drivers for the video card or try another video card all together. I have a 8800GTS that I can swap out from my DS3r board. That ought to get some real high scores in 3Dmark06 I am basically testing this board now and seeing how high I can get this board and still stay stable I need some input as to a safe OC for this board if anyone cares to say. there are other minor issues but I will update this post as I encounter them, like the post above. So, if you are following my post check back to see any updates that I post.Wow listen to this song and let the claps keep the beat for you.hot cars Video by R.I.P.. Churchill Odondi.... Updates go here
10-10-09 Update I had a key stick and it caused all sorts of problems like a clicking noise while booting and windows started hanging after startup and was unresponsive for about two minutes. this was the second time this happened the first was when I left my keyboard turned over and one key stayed pushed down.
    10-10-09 3DMARK06 failed during a routine test.
10-11-09 Orthos stress test failed after 59 minutes and ran Pcpitstop for drivers versions and got an error in IE8 then the PC blue screened with the error message PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA and the error mesage below said the cause of trouble is this file wdmaud.sys address AA6361E3 base at AA62E000 ................thats all I got and I shut it down for a rest. What am I doing wrong ?? do I need more CPU Vcore?? I guess I will read the guide again and see what it says maybe readjust the OC settings.

Update on 10-13-09 I found the Ram voltage was at 1.8v, so I reset it to 2.0v and all seems ok. Running orthos and past the one hour mark 10-17-09 Had blue screens while testing and then I changed the video card for 6600GT EVGA to a 8800GTS from BFG. It seems that the problems are fewer but, but something is still amiss. I read some other posts about setting Vcore above the PChealth values by 0.05 volts and the DS3R board seems happy with this setting so I will apply it to the UD3LR next chow

Any one else care to look at my thread?? I have gone all the way to 350 FSB and set my Vcore to .05 volts above the value listed in the PC Health section of my BIOS. Do I also need to check my MCH Core volts as well?
I am refering to this post where Rosco is told to increase MCH core and ICH IO as well as ICH core here is the link http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/ga-e...-issues-32982/ I tried 360 FSB but PC froze then blue screened with Win32 error message and created a mini dump(added to the three already there)
3:23 PM update I backed off the FSB to 350 and it runs 3DMark06 all way though and I get a measley score of 10968. This is good score but compared to other similar boards its dead last :(

    thanks for any help

One step up MCH Core won't do no harm, also your RAM voltage is set 1.8, set it one tick higher.
Please sort your template and post your settings.

Hi Chike thanks for your quick reply. I rechecked and submitted my settings as you requested. I have been having a time with BSOD's and I thought it was due to my graphics card but thats been swapped out now and still BSOD'S are happening. I am at 352 now and I will try the MCH core a little higher

Are you using a plain text editor like Notepad??
If you're using a word processing application, it might be adding extra control characters that is messing up the line breaks.

Copy this simplified bios template into your text editor and see if you have better posting results.

This isn't very cleanm please use the template in this post, fill the default values as well.
Always save the template as a pure text file not a word or wordpad document.
