    Thanks for all your help guys. This is really the most responsive forum I've ever posted on. I went ahead and ran the Intel Processor Identification Utility and Virtualization Technology shows up there, as do all four cores on the CPU, so it looks like there is nothing wrong with my processor. I think you are probably right, that everything is working OK, it just may be the way ver 1.6 boards interact with the BIOS. As long as I don't get any more boot loops, I am happy. Thanks again.
