Yes, the 920 has four physical cores, each capable of executing two threads, compared to a non HT CPU of four cores, each with a single thread. Programs treat the 920 with HT on as if it has 8 physical cores. A mix of both hardware and software wizzardary organises threads of executed programs in the most efficient way possible (hopefully).

To save individual BIOS profiles, the use of [F11] and [F12] will save and load the current BIOS settings for later use.

Here is a site that did some benchmarks with HT Does Core i7 Hyper-Threading Helps? by VR-Zone for Gadget & PC Enthusiasts

I was wrong in my assumption that microsoft would manage the way the threads are allocated to the i7. In fact windows or any software will see 8 cores or 8 cpu's ,if you have Ht enabled.
All the sorting out is done on the i7 itself , which is what causes the increase in temps.

thanks thats usefull but it sucks trying to decide which way to go. I do play alot of games but it doesnt look like it slows it down much. But I also want my computer to run fast in general.

Leave it on, you paid for it!

Shutting it off is like buying a Nascar racing card, and asking specifically for a large restrictor plate to be installed instead of just buying a smaller engined car

What's water got to do with it? If I was on air I would have it enabled as well!

Are they saying that about your game? You could just easily compare both ways yourself with a few benchmarks

You are right though, I have seen that mentioned myself
