    In D-an-W's thread, their E8400 + EP45-UD3P setups are using much lower VTT at 4.00GHz and higher overclocks. As I recall they are using VTT = 1.22 - 1.28 volts.
    It might be that the UD3L requires higher VTT settings.
    **edit** D-an-W is using VTT = 1.34 at 4.33GHz. Octopuss is using VTT = 1.20 at 4.05GHz. Both of them are using EP45-UD3P mobos.

    Take it easy, what you said was right, after all we all need to set optimized defaults in bios. Even if I already done it, you did'nt know it for sure, and I did'nt even remember if I set those defaults.


    Well, as you can see, these settings proved stable for now, after 10 burns with IBT.

    But the journey continues, as I turn on my air conditioner and set the room's temperature to 25 degrees C (it's very hot in the summer).
    The ultimate goal was to get a stable 4.2Ghz from my e8400. It's stable now at 4.1Ghz, but it's not enough.

    A few questions, my friends:
    Now that i'm stable, can you help me in optimizing my RAM ?
    By the way, what is the advantage of setting pci-e clock drive of 900mv ?

    Not much you can do with your memory, unless you think it will do lower main timings?

    I mean the sub timings are pretty low as is, maybe a few could come down though. Try out 544-12 or 554-12 and see if you can get that stable, maybe try tRD 8 first and or 2.00B tRD 8

    Also you could see if it will be stable on those settings I mention, or the ones you have now with 2.1-2.15V instead of 2.2v as that is very hot

    No advantage, just what it should be had you bought a non budget model. Meaning that board is not for extreme overclocking such as you are getting at, so setting it to what the better models use would be advised.

    1) tRD = 8 using 2.00B would be great if its stable.
    2) tRFC = 50 or lower will offer some improvements
    3) tighter memory timings mentioned above will be about as good as it gets.

    Thanks for the help !

    Tried all the timings combo one at a time, and couldn't get a boot.
    Tried tRd of 8 with 2.00B, same story.

    tRd 9 with 2.00B works great, with voltage of only 2.00V and rock stable !

    Strange that these extra 0.2 volts don't do anything...
    Ill try a lower tRFC now.

    Well, managed to further fully optimize some of the voltages and RAM settings.
    Now I think my OC is complete for the 4.1Ghz target.

    In addition, I ran 5 passes of memtest to see how well RAM handles tRFC of only 39 @ 2.020V
