    You still have command rate = 0 in yr settings. Is that correct? I thought it had to be 1 or 2.
    Anyone explain the logic of 0? I am ignorant on this.

    Yes, kinda strange... I changed it to 2 now and it has no effect whatsoever ...
    Suppose it defaults to 2T when set to 0, in my case.

    Command Rate = 0 seems to be the same as AUTO.
    I read somewhere that Command Rate = 1 won't work with DDR2 memory on the EP45 mobos. It might work with EP45C or EP45T mobos with DDR3 memory.

    With my N650SLI-DS4 mobo (Nvidia chipset and unlinked memory options), I can run with CR = 1 up to about 720 - 750MHz with 2x1GB of the older Ballistix 2.2volt PC2-6400 memory. Performance was only marginally better than running with the same memory speeds with CR = 2.

    re: tRFC
    From your SPD screenshot in post #19:
    266 --> tRFC = 36
    333 --> tRFC = 45
    400 --> tRFC = 54

    Hopefully your memory will be stable when running Prime95 Blend and Large FFT extended stability tests for 8 - 12 hours (each).

    Auto or Zero will be 2

    You can set one, and if it boots and is stable then you will be using 1T. Programs however will still only detect this as 2T. Gigabyte has informed me that the P45 boards (All) will do 1T if set this way, benchmark and compare yourself but I was told it indeed does work as it should on all boards.

    Is such a long test really necessary ?
    It passed the memtest few times.

    Hmm strange, but when I set command rate to 1T, it automatically shows me 0 in the bios. same with 2T, automatically changes to 0 in bios.

    Yes, if you want to know if your rig is stable or not. And Memtest86+ suggested run would be 5-10 passes or overnight

    Then your ram will not run 1T is all, hmm wait. Odd to hear about 2T goes to Zero, maybe your BIOS version?

    Using F4 bios. Do you suggest to update ?

    The default Command Rate (CR) is 2.
    If the bios can't boot with "close enough" bios settings, the bios is programmed to try booting with "safe" bios settings.
    With CR=1, other settings have to be even closer to their required values.

    While your stress tests are running, do an internet search using:
    overclock "file corruption" "data corruption"
    and read about the reasons you need to run extended stability tests.

    Some data and file corruption is probable if your system is borderline stable. Several 1 or 2 hour tests, no matter how rigorous, are not good enough to fully test your system. Many stress test programs use random numbers or data patterns to push your system to its limits. The longer these tests run, they will have more opportunities to find any weak spots in your system.

    Memtest86+ is good at finding some errors, but I've had clean Memtest86+ runs for 12 - 24 hours, only to have my system fail Prime95, OCCT, or other stress test programs fairly quickly, sometimes within minutes or a few hours. If you're into gaming, play some demanding games while your tests are running.

    Cut too many corners with your stress testing and you'll probably have random system problems and possibly have some valuable files corrupted, such as documents, photographs, or files that contain custom made music, video, artwork or other files that took many hours to create.

    System stress testing is the quality and assurance stage that every product has to go through. It's great if you have an excellent system for backing up your files, but backing up damaged files doesn't do much good.

    I remember an old Fram oil filter T.V. advertisement where the auto mechanic held up a new $5 oil filter while standing beside a blown engine and his bottom line was "You can pay me now, or pay me later."

    It's your machine....it's your choice.

    Very well, I'm doing the Large FFT test, and so far so good (2 hours). Will wait to complete all the 8 hours. I shall update then to F7 after the test completes. Still 39 tRFC, but had to set DDR voltage to 2.1V, Vcore to 1.35625 though to keep it stable in Prime95...

    Will I be able to declare "stable" if it passes the blend test and the large FFT's test 8 hours each ?
    It already passed 5 passes of memtest86, and 10 passes of IBT.
