Thread: Pass the 4Ghz with EP-45UD3L

I have this same board and am using F5c BIOS. Should I upgrade to the F7 BIOS? Are there any other changes other than "Improved CPU Compatiblity" with the new F7 BIOS? That is the only change that is listed in Giga's website under the description.

Just out of curiosity, what would happen if a bad flash occured? Are there really two BIOS chips on Giga P45 mobo's? In the case of a bad flash, does the good BIOS chip re flash the bad chip?

You would most likely be fine, 99% of the time the backup BIOS will recover to the MAIN Chip just fine.

And flashing is pretty safe as well, just be sure you use Qflash or DOS and you should be fine.

Many changes or fixes/improvements are always added other than what they list in the change logs, I always suggest you run the latest BIOS

Please read this guide for how to safely flash your BIOS >>
