Default Pass the 4Ghz with EP-45UD3L

    Hello,

I am currently using the following build:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @4Ghz
    AC Freezer Xtreme
    Gigabyte EP-45UD3L
    2X2GB OCZ Reaper 800Mhz (4-4-4-15) @890Mhz (5-5-5-15)
    Zotac GTX260 192SP @680/1466/1150
    WD1500HLFS VelociRaptor

For now, I use settings described in the image below -

When I try to reach more than 447Mhz FSB, on any Vcore, I get BSOD when using IntelBurnTest for stress testing.
Already checked Vcore 1.35V and just can't reach more than 4.020Mhz.
My ultimate goal (just for now, heh) is 4.2Ghz on my e8400.

    My voltages for now, then:

    CPU Vcore.................................[1.30625V]
    CPU Termination.......................: [1.200V]
    CPU PLL..................................: [1.550V]
    CPU Reference.........................: [0.805V]

    MCH Core........................: [1.100V]
    MCH Reference...................: [0.760V]
    ICH I/O.........................: [1.550V]
    ICH Core........................: [1.100V]

    DRAM Voltage....................: [2.200V]

Who can help me solve this mystery ?

I am guessing MCH Core and CPU Termination, maybe the references too, but this board don't have fine increments for them does it?

For some it's 0.020, for others it's 0.060, you know.
Tried 1.200V MCH core, still no effect :(

Oh I thought its like the EP43-UD3L, it only has 0.1 steps for MCH Core and CPU Termination.
Try 1.22-1.26v MCH Core, if no luck try the other way, 1.05v and below.

I would say more Vcore, Vtt, and MCH Core for starters. And set your ref voltages on Auto for now until you are ready to adjust them

Thanks for the tips. I already tried to find out wheather the RAM pulls me back, and it is not. I set multi to 6x and FSB to 460, and it works like charm + stable. Now trying the Vtt and MCH core stuff. I will soon report

    Tried :

    Vcore = 1.3125V
    MCH ref = auto
    CPU ref = auto

Comp was going a reboot loop, so I changed MCH ref back to 0.760V. Now it boots.
Any ideas why that was happening ?

Leave on auto, as that is the same as .76......

What you need to do is find the proper amount of Vtt, that is what is throwing it off when you set Auto.

Either way will work, but I do suggest leaving those until the end then manually adjusting them last for stability. They can be set up front, but then you throw yourself off on what amount of other voltages you need

I can't really advise properly each time unless you give full specific settings that fail, we have to see them all at once not just a few

    OK - update:
Tried already several voltages, and stopped at:

    CPU Vcore.................................[1.33125V]
    CPU Termination.......................: [1.280V]
    CPU PLL..................................: [1.550V]
    CPU Reference.........................: [AUTO]

    MCH Core........................: [1.280V]
    MCH Reference...................: [0.760V]
    ICH I/O.........................: [1.550V]
    ICH Core........................: [1.100V]

    DRAM Voltage....................: [2.200V]

On FSB of 456Mhz, it still BSOD on IBT.
Ok, now I try with MCH ref on auto and adjust Vtt.
Should I continue with the voltages?
I can fill the template. Will it be more helpful ?
