Thread: Weird noise when scrolling/moving windows ...

Default Weird noise when scrolling/moving windows ...

I can hear an audible noise whenever I'm scrolling or moving windows. It's driving me nuts.

I've turned off the monitor and the speakers (even the small one inside the case), and the noise continues.

I've been experimenting and Ive come to the conclusion that it is related to video configuration, because the noise disappears when i disable the nvidia driver.

Is there anything I could do in BIOS or anywhere to eliminate it?.

    regards.

I remember reading about this, but I don't remember where. Is the noise a high-frequency "whine"?

I'd try other (older/newer) videoc ard drivers, maybe they can fix it.

    Thank you for your reply.

No, it is not a high-frequency noise. It's difficult to describe... kind of a wheel turning, clic, clic, clic, etc. Of course, it's not the mouse wheel.

I cannot change the driver because it's Windows 7 (64 bits) and there aren't many options.

    Regards.

if you have c1e enabled in the bios under the cpu options try disabling it and see if it goes away.

I think I have fixed it. I have changed the PSU. That did the trick.

    Thank you, everybody. Regards.
