    Default G.SKILL NQ Series DDR3 1333MHz (PC3-10666) 4GB (2x2GB) Dual Channel Kit wont go 1333m

just took my muskin back because i need more ram and it ran fine at 1333mhz. Bought G.SKILL NQ Series DDR3 1333MHz (PC3-10666) 4GB (2x2GB) Dual Channel Kit and it wont run at 1333mhz? I get cant boot up at bios screen because of overclocking settings? All i did for both is set to 1333mhz and muskin worked and gskill did'nt? Do i have to reset mother board for new ram or something caus i'm gonna take it back and exchange it for Patriot Viper Series DDR3 PC3-10666 1333MHz 4GB (2x2GB) CL 7-7-7-20 Low Latency DIMM Kit (PVS34G1333LLK) and give that a shot?

Well what was you thinking trading Mushkin for G.Skill? What did you expect

    J/K

Ya, you should clear your CMOS but it isn't absolutely necessary.

So you are moving from 2x1GB to 2x2GB? If so this is the issue, you need to set more MCH Voltage, and likely a higher tRD and tRFC.

Not sure of what all else you may need to change though, I can't advise more without your full specs

NO need to get new ram again, let us help you out before you decide this G.Skill is not working for you. Please see the link in my signature for a template to give us your full specs and settings. Then I will advise back

Yes i had to take the muskin back cause i needed 4 gigs and they did'nt have any so i tried the skill. Took the skill back for Patriot Viper Series DDR3 PC3-10666 1333MHz 4GB (2x2GB) CL 7-7-7-20 Low Latency DIMM Kit (PVS34G1333LLK) much better. Do i reall need to set the ram to 1333mhz or just leave it auto? I want to oveclock the amd proccesor a bit to try and get it to 3.5. Do i just keep adjusting the front bus to adchieve this?

Ya, I thought so and was just giving ya a hard time :)

I would set things manually, that way you KNOW what is being used.

As for overclocking, I am not the best to answer that for AMD Systems, but basically yes that is what you would do and raise the Vcore as you do so. Keep an eye on your ram speed though, you may need to lower the memory multi as you raise FSB so you don't go to far over the rated ram speed

Is those Vipers the ones with Blue heatsinks? If so, you mind posting me a close up nice image of them? Been thinking about getting a set of them for testing purposes and I like the looks of the heatsinks
