    Default GA-EP45-DS3R - F11d + E8500 + Team Xtreem Black 2x2GB

    Hi, i'm in need of helps here.

    I've been following the guides here on overclocking my rig. Manage to get my system to boot up to 4.05Ghz. However when trying to run games and usually after 20 to 30mins, it will just shut off. Meaning instant power off.

    May i know what is the problem with this symptom?

    I suspect it might be my RAM as i have the Thermalrights True Black 120 and my CPU temperature reading shows 58degree at Max peak from CPUID HWMonitor.

    My system:

    Intel E8500
    GA-EP45-DS3R - F11d
    Team Xtreem Dark 2x2GB 1066 RAM CL5
    EVGA GTX260 - Core216 superclocked
    Creative X-Fi Extreme Music
    3 x SATA 2 HDD
    1 x 20X IDE DVD writer
    6 x USB devices connected
    Vantec 500W PSU

    I'm using this guide from Lsdmeasap
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/ga-e...6-e8500-28235/

    The guide is cool and at least it let me boot into window where previously i can't even at 3.6Ghz. Thanks Lsdmeasap.

    But now i'm trying to fine tune and at least can get my game running without the shutoff problem.

    Anyone have any advise?

    Thanks in advance.

    If you want specific bios suggestions, we need the following:

    1) List your system components in your signature.
    --> User CP tab (upper left corner of web page)
    --> select Edit Signature
    --> enter your hardware components (brand, model, etc.)
    --> include your bios version
    --> preview
    --> Save when complete

    2) Link to your ram's full specifications.

    3) Fill in the generic bios template with your bios settings.
    --> Fill in Auto where appropriate.
    --> Update "??" values with what is displayed in your bios.

    4) Include a screenshot that includes:
    Memset using the SPD and ">>" tabs
    cpu-z CPU screen
    EasyTune6 --> TUNER tab --> ADVANCE tab --> VOLTAGE tab (only the voltage tab is needed)

    Use either of the EP45 bios templates from here.

    Have you performed any extended stability testing using Prime95, OCCT, or IBT? If yes, how long did you run each test?

    There are several voltage and memory settings that need tweaking.
    We need to see your posted bios settings to see if there are other settings that need to be changed.
    Use either of the EP45 bios templates from here.

    I have the same board as yours, and overclocked a Q9650 like hell here.

    Looking at the .doc you attached here, i'll suggest some changes over it.

    These CPU and MCH Skew leave them at ZERO ps, i never ever had to use it.

    Set your Dimms to 5,5,5,18, leave Advanced Timing Control with everything at auto. This mobo handles Auto values very well.

    CPU V.Core i believe you doesn't need such high voltages like this, i would go with 1.4000v.

    CPU PLL you might pump this value and see, i use 1.59v.

    ICH I/O Leave at AUTO.

    Disable No-Execute Protect and CPU Thermal Monitor 2.

    MCH Core should remain at 1.26~1.30v, you're not overclocking beyond FSB450.
    CPU Termination, 1.30v would satisfy up to 425FSB.

    I believe you might high 4Ghz with these settings, and a question, there's a NORMAL CPU VOLTAGE, each processor has one, my Q6600 is 1.3000v, a Q9650 from my friend is 1.1375v, what is yours?

    Best regards, and good luck.

    AH! HEY! As i reported before, i'll give my advice at uppercase

    STAY AWAY FROM F11B, IT'S BROKEN, DON'T EVER FLASH THIS VERSION!!!

    The reason, when i flashed this bios, i just couldn't overclock, just stock settings, if i ever overclock, the bios somehow corrupts and mobo goes with it's recovery feature. And i flashed F11b to make sure of my affirmation THREE TIMES.

    Use F11c instead, it's very good, i don't know why Gigabyte doesn't release this version as stable.
