    May I get the optimal template for this system @ 4GHz?
    GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P Rev 1.6
    Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 Wolfdale 2.8GHz
    G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 2.0-2.1V

    There is no optimal template. It's also a bit optimistic to expect 4GHz. You may get that, but with a E7400 the odds are against it.

    All E7xxx are an older 45nm stepping. before the E8xxx and Q9xxx |E0 stepping, 4GHz on even these premium chips was hit and miss.

    For 4GHz, even unstable you're going to be running extremely hot with your E7400. You may be lucky and have one that'll overclock on low volts but even then heat will be an issue. There also seems to be a pattern with low voltage demanding CPU's that they still get baking hot (sometimes hotter than the voltage used would lead you to expect). Your Freezer 7 probably isn't going to handle 4GHz.

    Don't go for 4GHz right away. Work your way up. Start with getting 3.4GHz stable, then 3.8GHz, then push 50-100MHz at a time until you can go no further.

    If you like I can post 3.4GHz, 3.8GHz and 3.9GHz templates a bit later when I have time. You can see from those that certain settings make all the difference, and that much more Vcore is needed to move from 3.8GHz to 3.9GHz, much more extra than you'd think. However, remember that the templates are for my CPU and hardware setup and may not work at all for you.

    Thank you for your advice, I will adjust my expectation to 3.8 as the hope.

    I will post them for you in a few hours, when I have a little more time.

    Until then, Lsdmeasap has posted a pretty good template to try. You may have to try with those VTT voltages (CPU Termination) at 3.6GHz to 3.8GHz though. The values in the template look great for an E8xxx but (at least my) E7xxx can need more. I'm running 1.4 VTT at 3.9GHz. An increase or decrease in this results in instability regardless of Reference and Vcore etc.

    Be careful to watch CPU core temperatures. Also note that for me, changing MCH ref was vital to get 3.8GHz stable, even though the FSB isn't really that high. Same with 3.9GHz and then I had to go one notch lower. With stock MCH ref at 3.9GHz the system fails Prime95 instantly on Large FFT. At 0.720V @ 1.2V CPU Term, I am 24 hour stable.

    You'll have to of course find your own value for Vcore. Also you may need less CPU termination than me. I did all I could to minimise its value. It truely does need smack on 1.4V for me.

    how do i reset the bios when i cannot get into it?

    When entering boot cycle, let it try 5-7 times, if it doesn't boot, turn the PSU off for ~20 seconds, then switch it back on and try again, usually it will boot aftr 2-3 attempts, but might be more. You may need to repeat this more then twice.
    When finally boot, go back to MIT, a red message will appear, and adjust settings.

    I reacall you had stability problem were those resolved?
