Well I hope I made a good choice in case I just wanted something that looked like it had the best airflow possible. I usually get the Lian Li cases cause they are all aluminum and Lian Li says aluminum dissipates heat better than steel. I do like the Lian Li Lancool and the PC-7B cases with the nice simple brushed aluminum, as I usually get only Lian Li cases, but I guess I was thinking that the HAF case would have better airflow considering the fan options, regardless of the fact that it does look kinda tacky and ugly

TBH, any case would do really. I wouldn't worry.

You will almost certainly want to get hold of some 9V, 7V and 5V fan adapters. Those cases are obscenely noisy IMO. Also playing with which fans are on which voltages will have dramatic results when it comes to air flow. As there are so many fans in a HAF, air flow patterns are all over the place. Sometimes a good thing, and sometimes a bad thing, depending on how the fans are set up.

    A google search using:
    haf case temperature comparison

turns up some very good case reviews and comparisons.
Overclock3D reviewed the HAF 922 and compares temperatures with the Lian Li PC7.
Place your mouse pointer over the individual bar graph entries to quickly see the exact temperature readings.

Appearance? Probably love it or hate it.
I prefer the plain jane look of my CM RC-690, but the newer HAF cases offer improved features and come with additional fans.

If you're a member of the pimp my computer case crowd, you're more than half way there with the newest CoolerMaster cases.
All you need is some internal UV interior enhancements and you'll be king-bling of the hill.

    Different strokes for different folks.

The only thing an A07 lacks is a side fan and a helicopter in the roof. Other than that, the temp differences are the biggest I've seen in any comparison.

Side of my case off, desk fan blowing on high (~320mm at 1800 RPM), my CPU temp drops by 3c compared to case closed. Therefore if it makes so little difference, why would having a HAF make things that much cooler? Not to mention the noise of the thing.

For the couple of degrees difference it would cool things down by I'd rather have something that looks good and sounds good than some sort of robotic vacuum cleaner. Of course if you mount a fan over every single component you'll get cooler temps, but at what cost? Noise and horrible aesthetics. The fans are rated at 17dB for the top fan and 19dB for the 120mm fans, which is a blatant lie. Try 32db for the 120mm's and ~24dB+ for the top. Add all th optional fans etc and you have yourself a big black (on the outside) headache.

I can't imagine what it'd look like modded, but the "Can't polish a turd" analogy comes to mind. The inside doesn't even match the outside colour, so any lighting in there may look a bit crappy. Painting the inside black may help, but why didn't Coolermaster do that in the first pace?

I'd rather have a butt ugly computer case that cools well, than have a "pretty" 320mm desk fan blowing into my computer case.

The bottom line is the HAF cases cool well, the fans are quiet, and they're the best looking turd cases on the market. (polished or not)
    Period!
    End of discussion.

LMFAO @ Jim Well, I guess I'm glad to know I will have a well cooling and functioning case, even though its a "polished turd" I have never been a "pimp your case person, just like to have best functionality and options possible and I guess the transformer case had that lol

    LMFAO @ Jim
I'll take this as a compliment, even though you're laughing AT me.

I was impressed when the HAF cases came to market. They offer an excellent feature set and top tier cooling. To find a case that cools better will cost a lot more than the HAF cases. If your case doesn't have enough bling for you, you can buy the Zalman ZM-MFC2 controller ($55 USD) to fine tune your fan speeds. Conners and I like our controllers.

Kick can advise you on the subtleties of using weed block fabric as a dust filter for your fans.
My preference is to use scented fabric softener sheets, but stay away from the organic turd scented ones.

Good luck with your new HAF case.
    One review said that the HAF 922 isn't a slow case.... it isn't a fast case....it's a half-fast case

I would have never imagined so much fuss can be made over a stupid computer case.
With 3 fans and exhusted air that's only 2-3c above ambiant I am sure my case is well veltilated, and at the time I bought it it was about $50 plus say $20 for the 2 intake fans.
