Those temps are ok really, and you could actually go a bit warmer if you wanted as you never use your system at that full of a load anyway only during such tests. So you would never see those temps anyhow except when testing.

But yeah, sounds like 3.4-3.6ish may be all that cooler can handle with a quad, they do put out a lot more heat then a dual.

Ya, it would be fine really. How is the idle temps then at 3.4?

Idle temps at 3.4ghz is 31c CPU and 39c Core 0

Also, just ran 3dMark06 and my max temp was Core 0 57c.

Core 0 is the highest of them all?
Maybe some memory tweaking will Improve your GFlops. Results depend on amount of memory also and you are limited to 2GB for 4 cores.

It happens, sometimes due to mounting uneven mount or bottom on your heatsink, other times due to uneven IHS on the CPU, and sometimes generally more due to one core is doing more work than the other.

Post your current 3.40GHz bios settings and the usual screen-shot showing Memset, ET6 and both cpuz screens.

RealTemp can log your temperatures by enabling the logging option from the Settings screen. This log can be saved in CSV spreadsheet format.

When running IBT with threads = 4 for your cpu, you should see 100% cpu utilization for each core in the windows task manager or TaskInfo graphs. With a 32-bit o/s, 2047MB is the maximum amount of memory that can be tested.

Yep, natural variation of +/- 3-5c on each core is fine. It's actually possible also for different cores to actually have different TJMax's, strange as it sounds. As Lsd says, one core, even in a multi core test at 100% load, may be doing more work than the other. Also the position of the on die cache can influence temps a bit. As there's no way to see how well the IHS is bonded to the die (internally), that could vary slightly, making better contact on some cores, but still perfectly within tollerance. Un-evenness of the Integrated Heat Sink and bottom of the HSF can cause slight variance too.

Although Zalman do finish the bottom of their HSF's really well, it may be that the top of the |CPCU is either concave or convex, ever so slightly. It's worth considering however that replacing that Zalman for a more recent hea tsink would definitely have a dramatic effect. The Zalman's OK, but old. An OC'd Quad is really straining its abilities. For a dramatic improvement, even a mid range cooler such as a Titan Fenrir Titan TTC-NK85TZ Fenrir CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775/LGA1366) [TTC-NK85TZ] Cooling CPU Coolers or even a Freezer 7 Pro (though I don't like the freezer's) would see good gains. The Titan's a bit rare in the states, but everywhere in Europe and great value. Of course there's also the usual favorites too, like:

    TRUE/TRUE Black/True Copper (don't get the copper it's expensivo! Also very heavy!!!) Thermalright TRUE Copper CPU Cooler (Socket 775 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3) [] Cooling CPU Coolers and Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme Rev.C (Socket 1366 / 775 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3) [] Cooling CPU Coolers

Prolimatech Megahalems Prolimatech Megahalems Performance CPU Cooler (Socket 775/1366) [] Cooling CPU Coolers

Noctua tower and top down coolers (I prefer tower, but for smaller cases or extra mobo/VRM cooling the top down is nice and looks good IMO too) Noctua NH-U12P CPU Cooler (Socket AM2/LGA775) [NH-U12P] Cooling CPU Coolers and Noctua NH-C12P Top-Down CPU Heatpipe Heatsink with NF-P12 Fan [NH-C12P] Cooling CPU Coolers

I know I've linked to UK sites, but it's so you can see the reviews. OCUK has a really good rep, and their forum is worth a visit. As on here, there are resident experts who know answers to most questions with their collective knowledge. Be warned though, there are some resident haters on the OCUK forums too that like antagonising. They're probably frustrated little emo kids with nothing better to do.
