Psycho101 how do they compare to single GPU?
    @3.8GHz I get SM2 5447, SM3 6119, CPU 3496
The SM scores haven't chnaged from 3.6GHz, I have yet to lowest CPU speed that effects them.
With the old 8600GT card there was no change in SM test from stock but new card have increased them >2.5 times more.

Thanx a bunch for the good reply's guys, glad to know I'm in the ballpark LOL

Psycho, I was just wondering, I cant tell wether you have vista or win 7 but was wondering if you have 32 or 64bit OS? Just wanted to know if the scores you got on 3DMark06 were scores in a 64bit OS or not?

    thanx again for everyones input!

...Now for 3DMark Vantage, thats a different story... my system had a tough time gettin through that with a score ending up at a measly 7800 or so LOL, I really need a new GPU

Edit:Oh I see Psycho, you remarked that you have win 7, still wonderin if you run 32 or 64bit though ...did I mention how much I just love Win 7 LOL, its the best imo.

I'm running the 64bit version. 32bit is dead IMO. If anyone really needs close to native 32bit support, then they should (as long as they have a CPU with HW Virtualisation) buy a copy of Win 7 Pro/Ultimate and use XP mode.

Note that Windows 7's XP mode does not support any form of 3d acceleration.

Aye, I agree that 64bit is the way to go, at least for me cause I am a gamer and such

You know Psycho, I was actually thinking of getting Win 7 pro just for the xp mode to play older games, but wow SO glad that you told me that it supports no 3d whatsoever I am genuinely satisfied that I just got the Home Premium addition LOL At least I still have my backup 80GB HDD with XP pro on it that I can use to dual boot with in case I need to use XP, sounds like thats the best way to go!

Hey guys check this out, so last night I OC up to 3.61ghz again and run IBT, it passed and I got excellent results, but my system seems a bit "sluggish" or "sticky" if you will. Also this OC is with stock vcore, pll and vcc; Check out the screenie, then read below it~

Then...tonight I decided to still keep the 3.61 OC but to help with the "sluggishness" of things I decided to up vcore one notch to 1.25625v and then up pll one notch to 1.57v. Well IBT passed fine, and this took care of the sluggish feel in windows, but check out how my GFlops dropped by like 3~4, and loop times went way up again Have no clue why this would be, anyone know by chance? Also, as you can see, my cpu temp went up to 76c since upping the voltage too... yikes Here is screenie~

    And thanx for any feedback!

My preference is to make one bios change at a time and then test.
I try to run my benchmark tests the same way each time, such as booting my system, let it idle for 10 minutes, and then run my tests.

There's a 2.5% difference in the amount of memory used by IBT.
I suggest using the CUSTOM selection and always use the same value, such as 3072MB (3 x 1024).

It's possible that a background application might have been running (virus scan or auto defrag) during the second test.

LMFAO... never knew psycho was a happy bunny

thanx for posting Jim , I have been known to not run things the exact same way each time I do a test; Which in turn would definitely cause fluctuation in results... Shame on me! I will rerun the tests with the exact same memory each time and make sure no other apps are running at all. Jeez, I should know this, why the heck would I expect the same results for a testing environment when the experiment setup is changed every time LOL, I need to read up on Experimentation 101 For Dummies..

thanx for getting my hamster wheel spinning again Jim!

P.S. is the 76c cpu temp ok? I mean, i know that I wouldnt get that in normal PC use, just wondering though...

The increased cpu vcore (or higher ambient room temperatures) probably caused the higher temperatures. 75 degrees is OK for a quick IBT test, I'd be concerned if IBT ran with 80 degree or higher temps.

For every one degree increase or decrease in room temperatures, your cpu vcore temperatures will rise or fall a similar result.

Your max/min vcore volts were virtually identical in both tests.
I'm puzzled by the second test where the amount of memory used was 2.5% lower, but the times and GFlop scores were worse, by almost 5%.

omg, I know right? Thats what I was so baffled about I'll just have to run IBT tommorow with the "EXACT" same settings and apps running in windows to see if I get pretty close to identical results... one can only hope thats the case lol

Gonna run a Prime95 Blend tonight with my current settings, see if there's any turds gone unseen in the grass
