Thats looking good Brigs very close to mine @ 3.91. Now quit sitting and git er up to 3.8.

LMAO, thanx bro, ya gonna go up to 3.8 next. Conners what is the normal OC you usually run at most all the time for apps/games etc. and what is the max temp you are getting cpu and core wise for the given OC you are using, like in IBT?

P.S. OMG I have to have that explosion .gif !!! Seeee.... you and Jim make excellent contributions to this forum with all those sweet smiley gifs' LOL j/k

    Hey again Brigs,
Some time ago Conners and I noticed "anomalies" on cpuid specifically in relation to max cpu fan speed and cpu temp.
Assuming your max cpu fan speed isnt actually 675000 rpm, your max cpu temp may not be in the mid 70's either.
It could be something like speed/ temp increase is being measured at a particular point in time and a max value is determined based on the rate of increase at that point.
I dont use cpuid hw monitor anymore.
Everest ,speedfan, coretemp, realtemp dont seem to give those anomalies.

I think Conners is using 3.91G most of the time (could be wrong) tho he can run higher stable.

After using the board for a year my experience, and from what ive read, with 775 quads it comes down to what fsb the board will run at.Take 500fsb as a practical limit.
Assuming all components are working well together, psu has sufficient power for the overclock etc.
Up to 450 fsb and most people seem to be on easy steet ,using some minor adjustments and cpu V at or near standard .
    > 480 fsb people seem to be able to run cpu in and around standard cpu V still but with more bios adjustments.
Above 480 is where things seem to become stressed.

Im talking solely in terms of cpu V (for me) now :480-490 fsb(cpu ref)1.25-1.32V, 490-500 fsb (cpu ref)1.34-1.40V.
    cpu vid is 1.225 V.
Thats a cpu ref speed increase of approx 150mhz relatively easily(333-480).Above 480 you are starting to get diminishing returns anyway.
The performance difference between 333 and 480 you will notice big time (at the same cpu and memory multipliers). From 480-500 its certainly measureable ,but actually using the pc u wont notice much change.

The CPU temp is calibrated by the motherboard. If SpeedFan ET6 and Everest show the same value maybe take it with GB support and it might be fixed at a future BIOS relase.

Listen to kick he has a lot of good information in his post.

All you have to do on any forum, unless that have right click disabled, is right click the smilies and save as.

Brigs I run 3.91 most of the time foe everyday use and gaming, although I don't game oline anymore. As far as temps go their generally as follows depending on room temp of course. (70F when I looked idle temps)

    CPU: 25C, Core 0: 36C, Core 1: 28C, Core 2: 37C, Core 3: 37C

As you can see cores 0, 2, and 3 are stuck. So I'd say there more in the mid to high 20's.

Running P95 these are max temps are after about a 10 hour run I had, and I didn't record the room temp on these.

    CPU: 55C, Core 0: 58C, Core 1: 54C, Core 2: 53C, Core 3: 52C

After playing Bioshock for about an hour:

    CPU: 35C, Core 0: 43C, Core 1: 35C, Core 2: 38C, Core 3: 37C

Apparently core 0 and 1 were doing all the work.

I run Far Cry 2 and Crysis later on and see what they run on temps for ya.

    In IBT on maximum:

    CPU: Didn't recordC, Core 0: 66C, Core 1: 65C, Core 2: 62C, Core 3: 62C

    IBT standard:

    CPU: Didn't recordC, Core 0: 65C, Core 1: 65C, Core 2: 62C, Core 3: 62C

Not much if any difference between IBT standard and maximum tests for me.

Well I hope that helps you out with the information you requested. Also here is a screen of my highest validated OC, enjoy...

heh hey conners ya got me what was the one i posted ,520 or was it 525,mm nm i think that one may have locked up .

For brigs ,I can get a validation (personally i think validation is a contradiction in terms) around 520, anything 525 or over, last time i tried even if the validation saved there was some file corruption on hdd.

Its kinda like when you take your buggatti veyron out to see if it really will do 253 mph.
put in yer special key that adjusts the suspension drops the spoiler and get the use of a test track with a long straight.
Take 5 miles to get it up to top speed and then you have 12 minutes before the 40 gallon fuel tank runs dry.I think the tyres are only guaranteed for 15 min at that speed, fortunately the fuel runs out first ;0

What is that : like 4.2 miles per minute ,fuel consumption of 1.2 mpg and a range at max speed of 48-50 miles.

Kick, Chike and Conners, thanx boys for the excellent feedback! You hit it right on Conners! Kick thanx for the very good information in that post I am definitely gonna dump HWmonitor and just use one of the other programs from now on. Thanx also Conners for posting all your temps for me, now I have a better ballpark idea of what is practical and where I stand with my temp at my particular OC

I actually really liked Everest the most when I used the trial version, but if only I could use it longer than 30 days I actually brought up that question in one of my posts about everest and being able to use it longer than 30 days or not have to register it, and Lsd posted "Thats why they invented Google" LOL, so I'm like, oh sweet maybe somehow somewhere, I can find Everest and download it and not have to only use the 30 day trial I guess I'll google it and see what I come up with!

P.S. Wow Conners nice OC 4.506ghz, thats crazy man lol.... poor lil' silicon waffer LOL

Oh and... I just need to yell and scream a minute cause I'm so friggin upset about CoD:MW2

I'm tempted to add the exploding icon next to flogging a dead horse icon.
Betcha I'd have 50K plus downloads in no time with both of them in my sig.
Aw what the hell, why not!!

My high school German is failing me. I got an immediate email and when I clicked on the links the best I could make out was that they thanked me twice & might have said to have a nice day.
It's been two minutes already & I'm holding my breath waiting for the next email from them ;)
