Well the morale is not improving as much as had hoped for.

Kind of like that guy beating the horse. Just not working.

    Some suggestions:

Try running the 2.66d system memory multiplier.
With a 400 mhz cpu host, that will give you 1064 RAM
If it boots okay, up the CPU host to 405 to get the RAM oc'd at 1077
    and cpu at 3.44

I can assure you that to go beyond the 3.6 mark, you will need to use the B strap or go back to the 2.00 d.

MCH Core = 1.28 - 1.32 will probably work fine. Higher is not necessarily better.

Here is where G Skill Tech support tells their customers to raise the MCH core to 1.40 on 8gbs:

    F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK + GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P / R BIOS settings - GSKILL TECH FORUM

I use 1.30 now because I have since changed this computer to OCZ LV 1066's. But, I was using 8gbs of their 8500 Pi's, at MCH 1.40 which I had to RMA, because of defective issues and I still have 8gbs of their 6400 Pi's in another computer here and love those.

Anyways, just wanted to post the source of the info.

I use 1.3v on the mch to run my q9550 with 8gb at 4ghz...

Above 1.3 I actually get instability...

MCH Core that is too high or too low causes instability and/or boot loop issues.

I'm not going debate the wisdom of the G.Skill tech support people. MCH Core = 1.40 volts might be acceptable with some brands or models. In reading the G.Skill thread, it's clear that their tech support doesn't recognize a GB "fail-safe" setup from one that has properly loaded Optimized bios settings.

Check out this post for Intel's specs for the P4 Series Chipset Family, where 1.21 volts is the maximum specified MCH core supply voltage.
With a 1.40 volt setting this is 15% over spec, which might not be an issue with elaborate north bridge cooling.

Nice post on helping kimboy11 and prTV

G Skill Tech support is not all that great (I have restrained from saying what I want so you can fill in your own thoughts).
A typical answer to a customer having an issue is to RMA their motherboard, when it should have been to look at the issue closer to see if a setting is wrong or RMA the ram.

I agree 100% on loading the optimized defaults before changing any bios settings.

I only do changes through bios and I never use the windows based tuners like easy tune.
