Thread: S1/S3 sleep suggestion

    Default S1/S3 sleep suggestion

Why is it that S1 sleep always works yet s3 sleep always fails when overclocking begins? They are essentially the same process afterall right?

Is it possible for gigabyte to augment s1 sleep to turn off case fans as well? for the end user to do so? what difficulties lie in doing so?

I dont know about S1 I didnt read your whole post but I know for sure you if you cant resume from S3 sleep while your O.C but you can at stock then your settings are not stable enough. I know which voltage you would need to increase to allow it to resume some one else might know or post your current bios settings that are not working and we can give you some help. But the first thing would be make sure you have the least stable or Beta bios. As S3 is usually fix in new bios.

Some have reported that resuming from S3 works up to about 3.30GHz and fails with higher overclocks.
It appears that systems that aren't completely stable have wake from sleep problems.
Some of these problems have been eliminated when flashing using the latest bios release, but it appears to have better success with some mobos.

Follow the procedures in Lsdme's BIOS Flashing - A "How To ~ Qflash Guide" guide.
Do not flash your bios using @Bios in windows under any circumstances.
