    Default Win7 on older MB

Anyone yet try to install Vista / Win7 on a GA-8PE667 Ultra? I've got much of it working, but need drivers for USB2, Raid, and chipset. I've hunted around, and I'm not having much luck. I got the USB WiFi from Zydas (1211) to work after much fiddling, and my SB Audigy2 is now up, I think. My ATI 9000 Pro is not supported, so I'll look in my basement for an old 9800 that I think I have down there.

    Any ideas?

Well I think the main problem would be that Vista/Win7 want certified drivers, and I doubt Gigabyte would pay to have drivers certified for a board not currently selling. I don't know what your chances are.

Are you posting on Vista/Win7 sites as well? There are tricks for getting uncertified drivers to load, but think you have to do it every time u boot. I haven't tried it. Best of luck.

If you have any issues with driver signing, there is a utility you can use to sign them yourself. I use it to run Ati tray tools on Win 7 64Bit. Enable "Test Mode" first, then sign the relevant file needed, in the case of ATI tray tool it's "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ATITool64.sys".

You can download DSEO 1.3b here: Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider 1.3b - NGOHQ.com

At a pinch, you could try the XP or XP 64 drivers run in compatibility mode. There's no guarantee they'll work, they very well may not, but it's worth a go. For chipset drivers, the generic Intel inf update may work, if not the generic Win 7 SATA/IDE drivers aren't too bad. You may have a problem with sourcing RAID drivers though, and because they're loaded at install, there's no way to run them in any sort of compatibility mode, unfortunately.
