    I am creating a boot disk as per your instructions under Clearing CMOS (Attempting to Recover From a Bad Flash or Corrupt BootBlock), because I know something will go wrong.
    Where is the Flash895 file located and I am assuming the BIOS (.fxx) is the F9 file (latest bios version)

    Sorry to do this, but I am going to have to bump this so it does not get lost.

    We're waiting to see where you're at after following Lsdme's recommendations.
    If you're still having problems, detail what the issues are and post your full bios settings and the standard screen-shot (ET6/cpuz/Memset) information.
    We need to know exactly what settings you're using, all of them.

    Don't I need to create the boot disk just in case everything goes to hell?

    In the first photo. Said something about the Q6600 having an 8 and then a 0.5 multiplier... It should not have that .5 there should it. It's a 1066 trying to run where it can't. For an over clock with that processor you need to work on your ram.

    The NB on my board got way out of whack heat wise until I put an after market copper cooler on it. The kind with the heat pipes in it. 3" tall or so. And what's it do with only 2 sticks in it ?

    I'd like to give you some encouraging news........ the symptoms you described about the crashes......... That's the way it was for me over the span it took for my 6850 to die.

    FLASH8xx.exe is the older bios flasher version that still works. The bios flasher is only needed for your boot disk. My preference is to create the bios boot disk, but I boot into the bios and use Q-Flash to perform the flash. The bios boot disk is my "security blanket" in case the poop hits the fan.

    The newer bios files usually include FlashSPI.exe along with the actual bios file. When the bios file is extracted, it will have a file extension = .Fx where x is a single or double letter for the bios version, such as xxxxxxxx.F9 or .F9c

    Ehh.. I know this is probably getting really annoying for you guys but I ran into one more issue. I am in the process of creating that boot disk (just in case clearing the CMOS causes everything to go to hell). There is not enough room on the disk for the bios because the file is 1mb and the files that are placed on the disk by formatting it come out to 555kb (obviously the combined number is more than a floppy can handle). Are all the files necessary that are placed on there from the formatting?

    Annoying? Hardly?
    Your boot disk needs minimal files to boot.
    List the name, extension and size for each file on the boot disk.
    If it's an msDos boot disk, the required files will include:
    IO.sys
    MSDOS.sys
    COMMAND.com
    CONFIG.sys (possibly optional)
    AUTOEXEC.bat (optional)
    DRVSPACE.bin (not sure if this is needed)

    My FreeDos bios boot disk contains:
    KERNEL.sys = 44kb
    COMMAND.com = 65kb
    Autoexec.bat = 1kb
    Flash895.exe = 173kb
    bios file = 1024kb

    Total size of all files is 1.27MB.
