    Crikey, that's a late switch!
    Better late than never.
Windows7 Home Premium doesn't support running XP mode in a virtual Machine.

Sorry for wasting your time guys - but I'd literally put a dozen hours into it before I posted here.

    The 6850 wasn't mounted properly.

The card being as wide as it is rendered the black clips on the case useless. I didn't think of that as the card physically *clicked* when I put it in the mb. The dude at the shop put a screw in it, booted it, perfect.

I feel like such a retard. 20hrs wasted! Learnt heaps of stuff though. I may aswell OC it now! =)

Who wants to punch me in the face? Take a number & get in line =)
    Question
Hey, how many Aussie's does it take to screw in a video card?

    Answer
    None.
    Who needs frickin' screws.

LOL - I'd pay that if it was actually the problem - but the card was dead. 25+hrs of working on the machine later and I've had it RMA'd - the new one works a treat. :)

That's my next task......figure out how to run dual boot so that I can load up XP if needed. I'll be running a 340GB 7200 Sata2 drive as my system drive with a couple of 1T in RAID so there'll be plenty of space for OS.

I'm gonna start googling that now, but if you've got any tips wazza, that'd be great.

Thanks for all your help guys!

thers plenty of software freeware and paid to make a partition, just split your hdd into two 170gb partitions,(you can get it from that site i mentioned) acronis true image is good software, then install xp first and win7 last, then it shouldd at start up ask you which partition or os you want to boot into,or press f12 and select which partition/os you want to boot up into, remember to download/save your raid drivers on floppy or bootable usb stick for xp when installing,no need to do that for win7 and that should be it

just name the partitions winxp win7 ect so you know which is which at start/boot up

EDIT: btw i have no idea about raid partitions but i think you will need to do the same for your raid array, split it between two os's,maybe someone with more knowhow can advise on that,i dont use raid so cant comment
