    Default Noob needs help over clocking to 4.0 GHz

    Hi Guys,

    I am a noob to this forum and a noob to overclocking. First off I hope I am posting in the right place otherwise I apologize.

    I recently finished my build which you can see from my signature, and I have been having trouble overclocking to 4.0GHz.

    I have tried many methods but each seem to fail at the CPU level.

    Was very informative but did not work for me. I was especially cautious of the QPI link speed being so high (7.2GHz).

    Prime95 did not last 5mins with this method.



    The link below was a bit more stable and lasted longer than the other method but in the end it still failed.

    I think my problem lies in the voltage area in which I am not too sure which is the right voltage amount.

    Some users have advised to stay below 1.3 v on the QPI/VTT and to be roughly around 1.4 v for Vcore.

    I am not sure which is the right setting for me so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
