Cool New system produces memory errors

    Hi,
My first system I just build produces memory errors on (MEMTEST 1.7)
    Here is what I have:
    MB GA-EP45-UD3R rev 1.1
    CPU Q9550 2.83GHz
    G.SKILL F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK R 2048MBx2
    (DRAM voltage 2.08 V)

I have not installed any OC yet.

Please advise if its time to request RMA for the new memory, or some tweaking is needed.

Test with Memtest86+ (v2.11) and you might find that your memory is OK.
Memory errors are usually caused by incorrect bios settings.

Check this post for recommended initial bios settings and follow steps #1 - #4 to share your bios settings, screen-shot and detailed hardware list so that we can best help you.

Agreed. MEMTEST 1.7 and earlier (different program to memtest86+) are notorious for producing errors on newer chipsets and with newer RAM; errors that don't really exist. If it checks out with Memtest86+ then your RAM is fine. Another way to verify is to run a test in Windows. A system with a full screen of red in Memtest won't stand up to 8/12 hours of Prime95, probably mere minutes, up to a hour or so, as long as you specify as close to max memory usage as possible.

Tested with latest Memtest86+ (v2.11) with the same result.
Then switched the RAM to slots 2 and 4, and all errors disappeared!
    Thanks for your help!
