    Default P55-UD4P i5 750

    Hello all,
I have a question about the new S1156 and the MOBOs not OCing well. I made a deal with a friend, and he will buy my E8500 775 setup and i was going to build a i5 750 setup. But after reading about the socket problem i am not sure if its the best thing to do atm.

As far as OCing i dont tend to push it that much. My E8500 is @ 3.8 24/7 with a dark knight. I was thinking of OCing the i5 750 to 3.4 to 3.6 whatever is safe i guess.

I love to game but my days of DAOC Anarcy Online and WOCrack are over. but i do like to game a few hours a week and like to turn up all the eye candy.

With him buying my Setup i will have to pay + 260
    To get this setup
    P55-UD4P
    i5 750
    Gskillz 1600 7-7-7-24 1.65v
    Corsair 750
    WD Black 640
    HD 5850

    I will leave him my
    E8500
    EP45-UD3P , grate mobo BTW
    Corsair XM2 DDR 2 800
    Corsair 620
    GTX260 (192)
    Wb black 640

What do you all think, Stay what what i got ? upgrade ? maybe a more stable socket maybe a C2Q 9550 ? I am @ a stand still on this one less i can safely OC to a Speed that the most demanding CPU intensive game need.

What i am looking for is to beable to play any game i want @ 40 to 60 FPS max settings. Seening that with vsyn on you wont get pasted 60 FPS anyways and that 30 FPS is playable.

BTW i am on a rez of 1680x1050 but will go to 1920x1080 in a year
    Thanks

DO IT for sure. You don't need to worry about this "socket burn" this is only happening with extreme cooling (dry ice - liquid nitrogen) You can't loose and will LOVE the new platform. I am building 3-4 more systems for my family and one for a friend using my setup the UD4P and i7 860. It is great and you'll never regret it. DO IT NOW! That's a sweet system!
    P55-UD4P - i7860 - Patriot Inferno 120GB SSD - 1600Mhz Mushkin 7-8-7-20 - 3 WD 640GB Black
    880GMA-UD2P - X6 1055T CPU - Patriot Inferno 120GB SSD - GSkill 1333 8-8-8-21 - 2 500GB WD Black
2 or 3 other systems I like to play with and a laptop

Cool, so i see you got your i7 860 to 3.7 any problems so far ?

    Also why did you go i7 860 over the i5 750 just for HT and 2.8 over the i5 750s 2.66 ?

I have had nothing but GOOD TIMES! I have gone to 4Ghz but just need a better cooler and I can go higher.

I just wanted the 860.....I wanted the HT and just to try it out! It's great!
