    Default EP45-UD3P and GSkill

    Since I joined this forum about 3 hrs ago. I have read alot of conflicts with the GSkill and Gigabyte.

    Can my ram be configured right with my Mobo??

    My Computer specs.

    Case: Antec Sonata 3
    Power Supply: Corsair 650W
    Intel Core2 Quad 9550 2.83GHs LGA 775 95W
    Gigabite EP45-UD3P Motherboard

    G.SKILL Model F2-8500CL5D-4X2 GBPK Type 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM 8GB total

    WD 1TB HD
    Zalman CNP 9500 Cooling Fan
    GeForce GTX 260 Video Card LGNetwork Blue-Ray Disk Player

    I don't think there's a F2-8500CL5D-4X2 GBPK model, I might be wrong, do you mean 2 x F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK.

    Do you have any problems, and what are they?
    Have you tested each stick individually with memtest86+?
    Have you tested all slots individually with 1 ram stick?
    Have you tested both channel to operate at dual-channel mode with a pair of sticks?

    These boards love this memory depending on which version of the board you have. Versions 1.0 and 1.1 have no problems. Version 1.6 does but only that it requires less Mch voltage then stock to run. Unless you just have bad memory. Along with what Chike asked follow the link in my sig for a bios temp and fill it out with your current settings that are not working. Also you may need to update the bios. Ver 1.0-1.1 latest is F10f I suggest F10e and 1.6 is FDa.

    I have a total of 4-2GB sticks**** for a total of 8GB****

    I have been trying to get this PC together for over a month now and all I been with is problems one after another.


    When I first tried to install windows , I was coming up with "Pool Errors". I contacted the ram support (GSkill) and finally windows installed on slots 2 and 4 of the Mobo ,(vista would not install on in slots 1 and 3.
    But when windows booted-up I was getting "Blue Screen Dump Errors". I ran memtest86 on the ram and came up with many errors.. When I tried to change bios setting according to the GSkill support, It would boot to vista and then the blue screen. Finally I got the blue screen errors to stop by using another gskill forum members "suggested settings".

    Right now I am getting Blue Screen"Memory Management Errors" When I try to install some programs and update my drivers etc. like:
    Yesterday I ran memtest86 on all 4 sticks for about 3 hrs. and then on each seperate stick in its own slot..with no errors
    These are the PROBLEMS
    1 As soon as I go into my system config to disable my start-up programs , up comes the Memory Manage Errors" and the blue screen shutdown ( I can only edit this in safe mode)

    So far I tried to update my audo drivers,( Real-Tech , which came on the MoBo),Adobe Flash ,scanner drivers ,bios updates, lan updates These won't install and I still get Memory management errors
    Any thing I try to download to check my drivers fail.

    Things I could Install:

    Printer and drivers(which I now uninstalled the drivers and have disconnected)
    Programs downloaded from the internet, and programs like word, quicken etc.
    Nvida Drivers and all my windows updates except for the realtech audio drivers
    My device manager shows no errors on any of the drivers.
    I was building this PC for my grandson for his games, but it has became a problem
    I listed my present bios settings and specs below. These were all entered after I entered and saved my "Optimized Defaults"
    Can I please get some help on solving this with my bios settings and the errors I am getting

    Some of your settings don't add up. 333 CPU Host Frequency and 2.40B mulitiplier should result in 800 not 960 Memory Frequency.

    Unless you do a methodical memory and slots tests odds you are ot going to resolve the issue. If there is a faulty stick (or more) or faulty slot (or more) there no point to try and get the system stable.

    Try those settings I have marked in red. You may have 2 bad ram slots as you say you could not get windows installed unless ram was in slots 2-4 instead of 1-3. I may have over looked it but can you run STABLE with 2 sticks of ram. You may wanna work on that first then try adding in the other ram.

    My grandson was doing things on this last night, Plus reading the feedback on Newegg on this ram.
    He said it could be either the ram, vista, drivers, mobo in that order.

    Try my settings but I say you have 2 bad slots first then and or memory/bios settings. Windows could have installed ok but be corrupted in some areas trying to install with bad or unstable ram. May have to reinstall but try those settings and verify with running Memtest86+

    I did the memtest86 yesterday with the 8gb and then each stick separate(all passed)..

    When windows did not install I went to the gskill forums and they recommended I use slots 2 and 4 and it did install it.

    Well, this is what they recommended and they are really having alot of problems with this mobo and the ram

    my vista might be a little confused on whats going on

    I'll do those changes and get back to you
