    Default EX58-UD5 max bclk?

    What is the highest bclk anyone has been able to achieve with this board with out pcie mod? I can get 210 just fine, but anything above 210 won't post. I got it to post @ 215 but it required 1.5v IOH and qpi. But I didn't know if those voltage settings would be okay to use and it wasn't really stable. Has anyone had any luck with bclk over 210? If so what settings in Bios helped you reach it. I am curently using F9d bios.

    I have reached 239 Bclk, but to get much above 220-225 you have to Mod your board, and use Extreme cooling. I have reached 229 on water, but that is about it until you go extreme.

    But 1.5V IOH should not be required to reach 210. I only have used that at 230+ Blck, up until 225 Bclk on several CPU's I only need 1.2-1.34

    Sounds like your CPU may not be up to the task, some just are not that great of clockers

    Thanks LSD, so bclk overclocking is up to the board correct? Cuz even if I drop the multiple down and underclock my CPU it still won't post. I got my mushkin running @ 2000 (the one's you helped me with about a month ago) but can't get in linpack stable past 10 minutes. I can't seem to get them stable at cas 6 either. Goes about 10 minutes and just says error detected on OCCT LINPACK. It doesn't blue screen either. OCCT doesn't give me an error code either. Any thoughts on that? Thanks for your help

    Well to a point yes, the board, but mainly your CPU and temps. All the X58 boards will do 222-225 without a mod, to pass that you have to mod the board

    Sounds like your CPU just may not be one that will do 220+ Bclk, most that have issues are ones asking how to pass 222. It could be your settings though, but I wont be able to help more until I get back this weekend.

    I am about to leave for work or I would help ya now, I assume the same applies to your memory issues. Just need to tweak things a bit is all I bet. Have you read my review on Mushkin DDR3? Just checking, I did post a lot of settings I use in it in case you have not. If not please see the link in my signature

    Yes, I have read your review, and copied your settings. I had to up my qpi a bit cuz I kept getting the 124 code. I will continue to try and get over 210 and see what I can do. I will continue to check the post. Thanks again

    Just keep in mind, my settings are not going to be exactly what works for you of course, so keep at it.

    If you are trying to push past 210 Bclk, use memory speed under 1600 such as 1333 or use loose timings such as 999-24 if you are using 1600+ memory speeds. That way you know your ram is not holding you back

    No luck with anything past 210 bclk. I did have some luck getting my mushkin stable @ 2000. Cant get em stable with 9-9-9-24 settings. I get error has occured after about 15 minutes. No error code though. Running at 9-10-10-24. I had to use 1.55v QPI. Here are my current settings. Is it okay to run this memory with this QPI 24/7? I don't understand why I can't get past 210 bclk. You say I might not have a good overclocker, but I think 4.2 with 1.375v is not bad. I am stable @ 4.4 with 1.425 but core temps are around 85c load running linpack. Seems to hot for me.

    Yeah I read that post. I have been running it 24/7 since I got them stable to problems. i still can't get my bclk past 210 though. oh well I am happy with 4.2ghz. I did get my ram stable with 9-10-9-24 settings. thanks for your help

    Looks good! Maybe your CPU does not want to go past 210, it happens. Could be that or you just did not try enough of some voltage? Or your cooling may not allow you to feel safe trying the needed voltages?

    Did you try to get your timings down to 898-24? They should go there with the right voltages set

    Anyway, it is looking good as you have it, specially since you did not get 200Mhz sticks! Good job tweaking, keep at it!
