    Ok, I hear ya on that. Well try out all my other suggestions and see how you get along.

    Value ram is always an issue in my eyes, not saying this is your problem or anything but I would be borrowing a set of good ram to verify if it is an issue or not

    I reinstalled the RAM in slots 1&3, optimized BIOS, made changes to Advanced Settings, Integrated peripherals , PWR management, PC Health as per my last BIOS post. Then I made the following changes as advised by LSD (I added one change and missed another);

    Booted fine, then started Prime95 blend, gave up……………. and didn't check again until 11hrs later and to my surprise prime was still ticking away....
    I am thinking (some may say guessing) it might be (G)MCH Frequency Latch & System Memory Multiplier or tRFC at 58. (most of the other settings I have tried in the past, However, I must admit not all at the same time). Any thoughts??

    I have kept prime running (fingers crossed), should i change any timings or perform any other tests?

    I do suggest you leave this in auto, and just choose your own memory multiplier
    (G)MCH Frequency Latch...............: [Auto] *set to 266 (added this)

    But you can set it manually if you like, just remember this is why you only see a certain set of Memory multipliers down the road. When set, only the available multi's per the setting will be shown, if set to Auto you can choose any of them and the MCH Latch will be set accordingly.

    I bet setting Perf. Enhance to Standard, setting your own Memory multi was what fixed it. If you want, once you decide you are stable I can help you get your memory timings setup better.

    If you start without me, please save your current BIOS to a profile so you dont have to start guessing over again if things go wrong. On the MAIN page of the BIOS F11 is Save and F12 is load.

    Good luck, and let us know how things move along and of course if you need help tightening up the timings.

    I don't know why i changed this but i did.... will change back to Auto.

    All my previous testing has been with this set to standard, it changed back to turbo after optimizing the BIOS. I had also tested with a FSB of 333 (cpu multi @ 7.5 - for 2.5 Ghz) and mem multi of 2.4B which caused a system freeze and I tried the following by setting my own mem multi; RAM @ 745 (298 x 2.5; CPU 8.5 for 2.53) <o:p></o:p>and RAM @ 703 (281 x 2.5; CPU 9 for 2.53) which also caused a system freeze, so this still makes me think it might be something else. ???

    If you want, once you decide you are stable I can help you get your memory timings setup better.
    Have already saved my BIOS(F11) and yes I am ready for some help on the timing setups.

    Ya performance enhance default is turbo and it causes issues for a lot of users.

    Ok, give me your current settings again, sorry just want to be sure, without all the extra comments and I will advise back on how to go about tightening things down

    Just to make things clear I have never run my system with Turbo I have always changed it to Standard??? Sorry for any confusion..

    OK, I was just unsure about that. Default is turbo, standard is suggested until you are stable, then you can try the others.

    You are using 32bit OS right? If not, change HPET mode to x64

    Here is what you want to work towards timings wise, lower voltages should be done later if you want to attempt that

    Is that all I can/should do with my settings for stock speed? I still wish to perform a mild o/c on this system.
