I switched the Performance Enhance down to Standard... the optimized default was Turbo, I believe.

My bad on the MemSet pic... when I took that I had a stick from a second matched pair in temporarily... same model of memory, but I bought it more recently, and they changed the tRas from 9 to 15 and the voltage from 2.3 to 2.1. So the pic is showing the wrong stick of RAM. The timings and voltages I listed from the BIOS, however, were against just the 2.3 memory, and everything else in the pic is the same as the 2.3 memory, just the tRas and the voltage are different.

So I was running at 2.096 with just the 2.3 memory... now the 2.3 memory, both sticks, is running at 2.256.

Here are the new MaxxMem and MemSet pics against the two 2.3 sticks:

This MemSet capture with standard or turbo? I suspect it's the turbo loosening the standard timings.
A lower than 6 Static tRead value may improve performance a bit, not sure about the lowest possible with X38 for that speed.
Also try some MCH OverVoltage up to +0.1 see if it improve the slugginesh.

This MemSet was captured on Standard : \ So not sure what's loosening the settings.

Sorry, is the tRead the RAS to CAS Read Delay?

No, Static tRead Value(a.k.a tRD, Perfomance Level in MemSet) is one before last in Advanced timings.
I have no idea why it lossening them then, set them manually to EPP values, aside to tRAS not sure if 9 is such a good idea, may work after all though, start with 15.

Well, the board did not like 5-5-5-15 with a +.10 OverVoltage. It went into an endless reboot cycle that I couldn't break out of... had to clear the CMOS again to get it to boot up.

But it ran all night in MemTest at 5-7-7-21, so I guess that's what I'm staying with!

Not sure why I can't get the advertised speeds, but so long as I'm not crashing I'll live.

    Thanks again!

Oh well, though maybe you could squeez some more ?00MB/s with lower latency, not bad at all as it is.

Yeah, maybe I will play with it some more when I have another computer and can afford downtime : ) Thanks again for all the help!

If set to auto x48 sets looser than epp ram timings too.

Generally recommended to set pci Express at 100, but that might be for overclocking, so pci doesn't change.

In ram memset image tRD ("Performance level") is shown as 6, but ram u r using shows 7? tRD ("Performance level")has a major influence on mem speed/latency, followed by primary timings and tRFC, therefore the other ram may well be faster. U may want to try maxxmem comparison?

Fast Graphics Booster did not affect any benchmark scores for my overclocked rig, but may do something for others???

Must be a Gigabyte thing, then. Doesn't run at the tighter timings, that's for sure!!!

Where are you seeing tRD/Performance Level is 7 for the RAM? I'm looking in the MemSet pics, but I don't see a 7 anywhere...
