    Hi. I've been dealing with a problem of a GA-EP45-US3P rev 1.1 continuously boot-looping. My specs and bios settings that I am trying are below. I did try using a different PSU, and 3 sets of different ram, all displayed the same results.

    After the CMOS is cleared I can boot into BIOS, if I load "Optimized Defaults" save and restart - the system goes into the infinite boot-loop and I have to clear cmos again.
    I have been reading through these forums trying to find a sweet spot for settings, but every setting I have tried in bios has resulted in the same infinite boot-loop.

    The ram sticks are in 1and 3, and have tried them in 2 and 4 - same results.

    I have an E8400 which I am going to try to see if that makes a difference. Oh yeah, also - After a CMOS clear, and as I sit in bios screen I can hear a very faint chirp every 2 seconds coming from the CPU area.. I do not have a speaker so I don't know where it's coming from.

    Anyways, any help is much appreciated, here are the latest settings.. still no luck. (Forgot to mention the board is out of case sitting on some cardboard on desk.)

    Is this correct: (G)MCH Frequency Latch...............: [400], id yes than why?

    Have you run memtest86+ on each ram module individually?

    Try some more MCH Core, 1.22-1.26v. Sometimes less than default is required, so try 1.05-0.95v.
    Also try less DRAM Voltage, 2.06-2.08v.

    Yes, im not sure what I was thinking there,(something to do with 1066 I think) I switched it to Auto

    I have now attempted booting using a combination of these settings below;
    MCH Core, 1.22, 1.24, 1.26v, 1.05, 0.95v.
    I have also tried the DRAM Voltage @ 2.06v, 2.08v.

    I even switched out the video card to an 8400GS and that still does not change a thing.

    before this system I had run the ram in a p35 board with no problems (passed memtest), any other suggestions?

    Im going to try to run my ram @ lower mhz and see what I can get.

    The test also meant to test the slots themselves.
    With Performance Enhance standard and XMP disabled ram run at DDR-800. Also leave all timings on auto for now.

    EDIT: Try slots 2 & 4, if still no luck run memtest86+ on all slots with one memory stick and the settings as above.

    Well, I changed the CPU from a B3 Q6600 to an E0 E8400 and I can reboot successfully all day at will(the CPU temp is really high though), Im working on adjusting the ram settings now.. I guess this board hates the B3 Q6600. I'll post back the outcome later, thanks for your input.

    How high are temps? Is this with default settings?

    Yeah, it' 60c-65c.. PC Health shows the VCore at 1.38v.. not sure why, I changed that in settings, Whats normal voltage for this cpu (E8400) to run at stock 3ghz?

    That's under load or idle? PC Health or coretemps?
    The default vcore is the value displayed on the left.
    Have you loaded optimized defaults before/after you installed the new CPU? If not please do.

    I had not loaded optimized defaults, so I will do that.. I did manage to change the Vcore to 1.275(I did have it at 1.0275 on accident and the system defaulted to 1.38v) and that dropped idle temps to (42-45c). I have some tinkering around, im just glad the board isn't boot-looping any longer. I think for now I'll let you help some body else, and after tomorrow when I have some more time with the system I am sure I will have some more questions. Thanks again for the quick help!!


    Oh, and that chirping I was hearing is gone with the E8400.. interesting the problem seemed to be the B3 Q6600.
