well i just tested with some cheap 1.5v patriot ddr3 1333 pdc32g1333elk ram and it does the constar reboot dance. it was cheap and not on the supported list. it was a prayer. thankfully frys has a nice return policy and ill be returning it asap to get my cash back. gonna search microcenter for ram thats on the qpl list cuz frys had none. i dont think its the memory itself rather han the bios. gonna give it a go again saturday morning. wish me luck

yay! im so lucky! (sarcasm) just tested it with some corsair xms 3 thats on the QPL list which means it should work and it does the same exact thing. post beep then instant shutoff.
i think its the mobo because
    a) my first ram (ripjaws ddr3 1600 c7) would post and get passed all that until it says it cant load because the hdds werent connected. then my psu commted suicide when i was putting it all back together.
    b) 2nd set of ram patriot ddr3 1333 1.5v wouldnt boot
    c) 3rd set of ram corsair xms3 (on approved memory list for this board) didnt solve it either.

im thinkng that the power supply messed something up on the bioses when it commited suicide since the board would post just fine when i first got it. time to rma this board or just pull an old swicheroo at fry's

In the unlikely event that your bios is bad, you can re-flash your bios and see if this helps.
Be sure to load Optimized bios settings after the flash, save settings and exit, then re-enter the bios to make any bios changes.

Everything you need to know about bios flashing is in the BIOS Flashing - A "How To ~ Qflash Guide" thread.
