Default PWM CPU always spinning at 100% on X58 UD4P

So initially when I got this board it had the F8 bios and had this problem where I had my Scythe PWM fan on the cpu header. Except when I turned the computer on, the PWM CPU fan was running full tilt at 100%. Only way to get it to run in a more "auto" mode was to use ET6 and adjust the settings. Auto on ET6 didnt do anything just ran the CPU full tilt even though my core temps were in the 32C range.

So I then updated it to F9c which seemed to fix the problem, so I just wrote it off as a bug maybe in the F8 bios.

Later went to F10d bios, still everything working fine, PWM fan working fine as it should.

Then today went to F10h, and we're back to the original problem, the fan runs full tilt even when sitting on PWM in the Bios. Only way to get it not to run full tilt at idle CPU is to use ET6 again and adjust the settings.

Now this is all fine, except when I boot into my SnowLeopard (hackintosh) I cant control the fans like I can through ET6.

Just wondering why does this happen now going from 10d to 10h on the bios? Is there no way at the Bios level to set the same type of settings that you can in ET6?

The main reason for moving to 10h was to see if it fixed a random LAN issue I was having with my OSX setup.

As far as my hardware. Im running the X58 UD4P board as I mentioned, Scythe PWM fan on the CPU header. Not overclocked at this point, running stock 2.66ghz on my i7 920. Memory is the Patriot Viper PVT36G1600LLK 6gb. Video card is the Zotac GTS250 card. Power supply is the CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX.

Only thing I saw when searching was something about possibly the XMP profile on the memory having something to do with it. Except Im running near stock Bios settings (only changes are like running in AHCI instead of normal IDE mode).

Probably going to have to at this point. I wish the Bios had the same "advanced" settings for the Smart Fan that ET6 has. That would be nice to just set the low and high points of the fan speeds and their temps, just like you can in ET6. That would eliminate the need for ET6 or programs like that to control the fan speed at a software level.

i know that speedfan lets you control multiple fans using software but i dont know how to set it up,you could try playing with that

If you for some reason need to stick with the latest beta BIOS, you can use Speedfan to control the CPU fan. You can choose which temp range kicks in which RPM value/% of full speed too, or control it manually if you wish.
