    Cool Overclocking: P55-UD5, i7-860, 1GB HD4890

Hey, sorry to do this but im just having no luck getting to oc...

    Case: Antec 300
    PSU: Corsair HX 1000W
    MB: G-B P55-UD5
    CPU: i7-860 (stock cooler)
    GPU: ATI 1GB HD4890 Gigabyte
    RAM: DDR3 Ram 4GB Kit (2x2048MB) PC16000 2000MHz G.Skill F3-16000CL9D-4GBRH 9-9-9-27 (i5 ready/1.65V)
HDD: 500GB SG for OS, 1TB SG for storage
    DVD: Pioneer 214

I have had people say 3.3ghz works with stock fan... but i cant get it to work...

I would be happy to go from 2.80ghz to 3.2/3.4ghz...
As a side note, with turbo on, does it go this high?

Has anyone got some oc's that work for them on same/similar parts?
or can anyone work out exactly what to change in bios.

Also, I am rather confused as to what my ram settings should be...

    Thanks.

it should clock pretty high with turbo on anyway, but to overclock you have to raise bclk to your required speed, then set ram mutliplier to as close as your rams rated speed, then set ram volts and timing to spec, set qpi voltage to 1.25000 and set cpu voltage on normal and set performance enhance to standard, you might need to play around with qpi and cpu volts to be stable you wont need any higher than 1.3000 tho for 3.4 ghz

ok, so if 3.2/3.4Ghz is the highest i want to go for now is there any point in OCing?

How do i know what my ram multi is?
    ram volts: 1.65v?
    timing: 9-9-9-27
    qpi < 1.3 or cpuv < 1.3?

when you raise your bclk it will raise your ram multi too maybe too high so you will have to set your ram multi so that the rams speed is as close to its rated speed as you can without going over, qpi try 1.25000 and for cpu there should be a normal option in the bios set it on that to start with

Please get a template from my signature and give us your full BIOS settings.

Since you do not know how to change your memory multiplier you may need to do much more reading before you get into overclocking, but I can give you some suggested settings to try out. But I do advise you to do some reading on overclocking for P55
