    Took a shower and ran Prime95 while doing so. Came back to find that Workers #2 & #4 had an error. This was with my CPU running at 430FSB (3.65Ghz).

    I've now downclocked to 3.4Ghz and am following this guide here: http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/anot...erclock-31304/

    I'll be running Prime95 tonight while I sleep and will give you feedback if it is stabilized. However, I'm not too sure how much my VCore is supposed to be running at. I've left it at Auto for now, but before I run the test I will switch it to 1.20000V.

    I ran a single RAM in slot #2 and it passed Memtest twice. I then tried putting the same successful RAM in slot #1 and this is what I got:


    A billion errors in 20 seconds.

    I then tried my second RAM stick and put it in slot #2. By now, I am certain that my mobo has a dysfunctional slot #1 and #3.


    Does that mean that my second RAM stick is bad?

    Also, the reason why I ran MemTest was because I had OCed my system to 3.825Ghz with 2 sticks at 800Mhz speed. Things were going perfectly up until the 7th minute when it froze:

    Here's the update:

    1st RAM Stick in Slot #2:

    Looks like this one is broken to me. I will RMA to G.Skill, unless somebody objects.

    2nd RAM Stick in Slot #2:

    2 hours and 4 complete passes, this one is good.

    2nd RAM Stick in Slot #1:

    Computer screen froze in 6 seconds lol. My motherboard's Slot #1 and #3 are FUBAR. It'll be replaced in Winter Break.

    Should I wait on the overclocking until my new RAM stick arrives, or could I go ahead and still overclock with 1 semi-dysfunctional stick?

    If it's a kit you'd have to RMA thrm both.

    I think I should be okay returning only 1 from G.Skill. Their RMA form has this option here:

    IF I was you i would return them both. and then make sure the replacements were ok before OC'ing again. plus from the looks of things your mobo is faulty also im not so sure that the mobo didnt cause the mem to fail... i would be real careful ocing to much on that board until you got the new one. just my opinion.

    Chike has helped me with my ocing of my Q9550 on a GA-EP45-DS3R mobo. our are about the same im running 3.83 right now and have passed all testings with his and a couple others help listen to what he/they have to say, and you will have yours running up there as well
