    Superb news!

Sorry to hear you had to RMA, but it's nice to hear you solved the problem!

I can't really help with BIOS settings for you though, sorry. Artdrivers will likely be along to help you out with that today, if not let me know and I will PM him or you can.

just to make things clear, my spec is totaly the same, minus the memory (which i later found out was not the source of the problem), and the newly RMA'ed phenom II x4 955 BE.

i booted with memory in slot 3+4, and it works !!!

i booted with memory in slot 1+2, and also works !!!

so the mobo is fine, the problem is confirmed to be in the processor. i guess it's becouse the memory controler is on the processor, and somehow i got a defect processor. so i RMA'ed it, installed it, and all is good now. running in dual channel mode. but still not at the rated speed and timings. so. i guess it's just a matter of little tweak in the bios, and it should be running in the rated speed....

it works fine now running dual channel in default bios setting (1066mhz, auto, 1.5v). but i still can't go to windows when i change the setting on bios into 1333mhz, 9-9-9-20, 1.65v (the labelled settings). the computer restarts before it can load windows.

so please, tell me the the recommended bios setting for the OCZ3G1333LVAM4GK + GA-MA790XT-UD4P.

    K, I will send him a PM.

What you will need to increase is your NB/Mmeory controller Freq 2.4-2.6 or more I think, and NB Vid, then you should be able to set proper speeds.

But like I said I know very little about AMD, so let me PM artdrivers for you. Looks like he has been gone for a few days, hopefully everything is ok and maybe he is just on vacation or something.

    Anyhow, PM has been sent.

i've tried : (setting the memory to the labeled settings)
    raising the clock to 1333Mhz
    set the ddr3 to 1.65v
and set the timings to 9-9-9-20
but i can't load windows with those settings

restart windows, set to default bios setting, and is all good... so far

Have you tried setting the timing items on auto and raise the memory clock to ddr1333 and DDR3 voltage to +1.5v? Then restart into Bios and check what the memory timings are? Let us know what they change to.

the default DDR3 voltage is already 1.5v.
when i set the clock to 1333Mhz, the timings on the bios auto settings are :
    Code:
    DRAM Configuration
    CPU Host Clock Control [Auto]
    x CPU Frequency (MHz) 200
    Set Memory Clock [Auto]
    x Memory Clock x5.33 1066Mhz
    DCTs Mode [Unganged]
DDR3 Timing Items [Auto] SPD Auto
    x CAS# latency Auto 7T 9T
    x RAS to CAS R/W Delay Auto 7T 9T
    x Row Precharge Time Auto 7T 9T
x Minimum RAS Active Time Auto 30T 30T
    x 1T/2T Command Timing Auto - - - -
    x TwTr Command Delay Auto 4T 5T
    x Trfc0 for DIMM1 Auto 110ns 110ns
    x Trfc2 for DIMM2 Auto - - - -
    x Trfc1 for DIMM3 Auto 110ns 110ns
    x Trfc3 for DIMM4 Auto - - - -
    x Write Recovery Time Auto 8T 10T
    x Precharge Time Auto 4T 5T
    x Row Cycle Time Auto 27T 33T
x RAS to RAS Delay Auto 4T 5T
oh, and for the record, i can't post with above setting, blank screen, no blingking light on the vga OHP led. i have to clear the cmos to get to the bios again.

Sorry what I mean is set DDR3 voltage to +.15=1.65v
Then see if you can boot up. Leave the timings items on auto for now. Let me know if this works You may be able to adjust the timing items a little. But I believe it will not run at the fast 7-7-7-20 You may need to settle for a 9-9-9-24

1333Mhz, 1.65v, and the timings to auto. will do that as soon as i get home

the description on the oficial web says, the 4 gb kit setting should be 1333Mhz, 9-9-9-20, 1.65v.
OCZ Technology | Products | Memory | OCZ PC3-10666 Gold AMD Edition Low Voltage
so at least i want them to run at the labeled timings.
i'm not aiming for 7-7-7-20 with this kit... not now at least.
