    7-12 hours to test one stick? WOW, AMD must be worse than I thought.

    It should only take 20 minutes or less to test one stick of memory. You can test with HCI Design Memtest within windows if you want, you can get that at the following link

    Yes, people use Memtest86+ for 12-24 hours, but the way you said that it sounded to me like it took you 7-12 hours to test one stick, as in one pass took that long.

    Sorry if I misunderstood you! Yes, it should only take 15-20 minutes or less for one pass, but you can run it however long you want.

    Is that the problem artdrivers? The other memtest takes that long??
    The old memtest86 v3.0 failed on mine. I then learned quickly it was the version I was using, and switched to memtest86+v2.1 It works ok but now I use memtest86+v4.0 and it works about the same as v2.1. about 41 minutes for 1 pass with 4GB's on this setup. I would think 1GB or 2GB's should be quicker. Not as much memory to test.

    Ya, that's what I would expect. I am not sure, I may have misunderstood what the OP meant, I thought he meant it took 7-12 hours for one full test to finish but not sure if that is what he meant now?

    i'm sorry too, english is not my native language

    so, how many pass should i test ? i heard people recommend 7 pass'es.
    and how exactly should i test them ? 1 stick at a time ? or both sticks at the same time ?

    what settings should i used ? the default (bios set to auto), or the manually configured (recomended by the manufacturer) settings ?

    I would test overnight to be sure. Go ahead and test with both sticks, then if you have errors you will need to test one stick at a time to be sure one is not faulty.

    Use the settings you plan to use, the manufacturer specs.

    i've just run memtest86+ v4.0 on the system, and the result :

    ram-1 has error in all slots (1,2,3,4)
    ram-2 has no error in all slots

    =========================

    a bit indepth about the memtest results :

    ram-1 on slot 1 : 80 error (1'st pass), 150 (2'nd pass)
    ram-1 on slot 2 : unexpected interrupt - Halting (WT# ?!)
    ram-1 on slot 3 : lots of error (1'st pass)
    ram-1 on slot 4 : lots of error (1'st pass)
    ram-2 on slot 1 : no errors (1'st and 2'nd pass)
    ram-2 on slot 2 : can't boot (WT# ?!)
    ram-2 on slot 3 : no errors (1'st and 2'nd pass)
    ram-2 on slot 4 : no errors (1'st and 2'nd pass)

    so, i think i can conlude :

    1. ram-1 is foulty, should get it replaced ASAP
    2. ram-2 is perfectly fine
    3. what is going on with slot 2, both ram have error or doesn't work in that slot

    =====================

    can i just rma 1 stick ? or do i have to rma both (although ram-2 works perfectly fine) ?

    is something wrong with my mobo, or procesor ? why is slot 2 foulty ?
