They may and or they may not, they may do it free or the may charge. Are you in the US? Have you ever been able to start the board? If not, then you may be able to RMA where you purchased and explain the pins were bent on arrival and the board never worked. If you have to contact Gigabyte I would explain the same

    I'll check your PM now

As Lsdmeasap says, maybe best to return it to the retailer first, claiming the pins were bent. Tell them you know a lot about PC's and always check first. Tell them you spotted it before you nserted a CPU. Also clean off any tell tale signs that the board has been used like plastic dust around screw holes etc.

I believe an RMA that was posted about recently ~2 months ago they told the person that the pins were bent so they must have done it themselves. I think they just returned the board sans repair with no option to pay. I suppose it's almost reasonable as there is a plastic Foxxconn/Lotes shield covering the socket in transit, and they're all QC'd before leaving.

There was an article in a recent PC Format (UK) magazine where they visited a Gigabyte factory. There's loads of people, mainly women who go through everything with a fine tooth comb and a great big magnifying glass. If they're as thorough about RMA's they'll probably refuse it.

Is the pin bendable using a pin or fine screw driver? If so, and it's a pin near the edge, try heating the area with a hair drier and bending the pin back. It has to be a good job but there's maybe 0.25mm tolerance. If it's a pin surrounded by others, be careful as you could damage more than you fix.

He is taking the honest route and trying with the retailer first. Just thought I would let you guys know so further replies are not needed really right now.

    Hope he has good luck!

Ahh ok, well they should receive it shortly then correct? Won't be long after that until you know if you need to try GA or not.

I personally would have called it in since you are being honest, to either place before wasting the shipping $
