Default BIOS won't read disk when I try to flash

I am using the Gigabytye EX58 UD4P board and need to flash the bios. I extracted the 3 files(ex58ud4p.10h, autoexec, and flashspi) copied the files to a floppy disk, but when I use quickflash in the bios it won't read any of the files. The file list is just blank. What should I do?? Am I also suppose to extract something from the flashspi.exe? When I try it says it's not compatible with the windows version I'm using (win 7 64 bit) I also tried it on another computer with xp 32 bit and a msdos box popped up really quick then closed, but nothing else happened
I also tried saving the old bios to a disk, and it saved fine. After it finished saving I went to the update bios and it still couldn't find anything.

Using Q-Flash, the only file required for flashing is the actual bios file. The other files are only required when you are flashing from a bootable floppy and not using Q-Flash. If your saved bios file is on your hard drive, it must be in a FAT16 or FAT32 partition. NTFS partitions are not recognized by Q-Flash.

Thanks for the info, but I still don't see why the bios won't read the files that are on my floppy disk. Specifically, why doesn't it read the .10h file? It just says 0 files. I am not able to boot from a partition because all my disks are ntfs and there's no way to convert back to fat

Are you selecting FLOPPY and pressing ENTER?
You should then see and select the bios file on your floppy.
You should be able to use a USB drive if you have Legacy Storage Detect enabled in your bios.

Yes, I click floppy and it reads the disk and says there no files. I don't know, maybe something is wrong with my floppy drive, even though both it and the floppys are new. I can copy files to the disk fine, but when I restart windows the files are gone but it still says the space is taken up on the disk. I tried the usb drive and that won't work.. it doesn't get recognized and I checked like 5 times to make sure legacy is enabled. Looks like I'll have to buy a fat32 hd

Is there any unallocated free space on you hard drives? If there is, you can create a small Fat32 partition.
Most hard drive manufacturers have free software that will let you resize an existing partition.
It's best to backup all the files first in a partition before you "shrink" it.

Just so happened I had free partion running around that I was able to convert to fat32... qflash recognized the fat32 drive without a problem and the new bios succesfully installed... thanks for the help. Now it's time for a new thread on why my cpu won't overclock at all with my new ram... which was the reason for the bios update which seemed to only make the problem worse

Nice to see you got it flashed! USB and Qflash is the easiest way to do this, but I do keep a 1GB FAt32 partition on my storage drive with a few backup BIOSes just incase.

So if you want you can delete that partition and just make a new one but make it small, that way if the one you converted was larger you will get some space back. Or you could leave it, up to you.

Why it would not read your floppy could be many things, did you try a different floppy disk in case the one you tried was faulty even though new? You should also only place the BIOS file onto the floppy if using Qflash the FlashSPI and .bat file are only needed if flashing from DOS
