Default Why is VGA output significantly crisper than HDMI on MA785GM-US2H?

I just built a new PC with the following specs:
    GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H mobo
    AMD Athlon II x4 630
    Samsung LCD 23" TV
    Windows 7 64-bit

My problem is that the VGA output is significantly crisper and clearer than when I use HDMI. I would rather use HDMI so I can have audio. Any thoughts on why this might be the case?

You don't mention if your TV is 720p or 1080p

A "HD Ready" TV will have 720p capabilities but the panel resolution is usually 1336x768. A 1080p TV will almost always be the correct 1920x1080. It may be that the VGA signal is being received at the exact native resolution of your panel/TV and the HDMI output is set either higher or lower. Some TV's will handle a 720p signal by centring it with a slight black border (19 pixels wide at the sides) and others will try and stretch it to fit. It's this stretching that may be causing the bluriness. Different panels scale differently and with varying quality.

Have a look in the GPU settings and see if you can set the exact native resolution you need, or alter the scaling so that it's centred and maintains the correct aspect ratio. There may also be settings in the TV's setup menu that alter scaling.
