    Exclamation Ga-ex58-ud5 c1 error

    Hi all,
I was streaming some video to my ps3. It was choppy so I decided to reboot. Now my computer is dead. The led displays c1. I have removed all my ram and tried each one in every white slot onthr board. I removed every device except the CPU ram and video card. I have also tried removing g all ram and video card and still get the c1 error. I am using crucial triple channel ram. I have tried a ps2 keyboard and cannot even hit num lock or caps lock to light the keyboard. I have also tried an optical mouse and it still won't light. I removed the battery and cleared the CMOS but still no luck. Please help!

Please try clearing your CMOS using the long method I outline in post #2 here >>
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/bios...h-guide-27576/

If that does not help, please try turning the machine on and flicking the PSU Power switch on the rear of the PSU many times as fast as you can while trying to turn the machine on. Sometimes this will "jump start" it.

    PS3 disconnected correct? Just checking

    hi,
yes the ps3 is off, it was only networked to the computer.
I tried removing the battery and putting on the jumper for 20 minutes and flicking the psu on/off while pressing power.
I still get the C1 and no screen on my monitor.

yeah i tried each memory stick in the white slots, i even tried the blue slots. I just tried a different video card and still can't get anything. if i unplug the 8 pin power connector near the usb ports the error goes away, obviously i need that power connector in there though =D heh.

thanks for the reply, didnt work. one thing i noticed before my computer died was after a few weeks of my computer being on my ethernet port stopped working. I would turn off my psu and turn it back on and voila the ethernet port worked again.

The day before my computer died i had a usb drive connected to the machine and the computer would get stuck at the graphical screen that popped up. after pulling out my usb drive the computer started normally.

luckily i bought my motherboard from chief value (newegg store) so my 3 year warranty is intact. i doubt all three of my ram sticks are bad since everything is less than 6 months old. i am getting very close to doing the rma thing =(

by the way, i am using an antec sonata case that came with an antec 500 watt psu. is 500 watts enough? should be with my hard drives and cdrom completely disconnected which is what i have done.

500w is ok i ran mine on 300w 4 pin psu so it will be ok,you can always rma,but it might be a simple fix, its just hitting on what it is

i would think its ram more than motherboard if its showing c1 error and none of the sticks will boot pc,it would be best if you could borrow some ram to try or rma the ram first as it will be lighter and easier to send back
