    Try less MCH Core, 1.05-0.95v

EDIT: I can't find the memory model in your sig, there are TD, HK, NQ, PK, PQ and HZ models but no PG.

Correction, should have been "PK". Changed MCH Core to 1.05 and am running test. I might have found an MPrime setting that will help trap an error. More soon. Thanks.

The test continues, running over 25 minutes so far. I don't want to get my hopes up but this is a good sign. With the change I made MPrime did generate an output file after the first iteration, with the following contents:

The system crashed after about 1 hour and 20 minutes of torture test. Much better than before! MCH Core is still at 1.05. Should I lower it?

    Yes try 1.0v next.
I myself would use default timings with profile1 selected in XMP. EPP timings supposed to be safe, I believe tRFC is lower than it's default in EPP.

My bios has the .95 and 1.05 available for MCH Core settings, but not 1.0. Is that static of a factor of some other setting?

Set to MCH Core .95 and profile1, starting testing now. Thanks for the quick responses, I feel like there is real progress.

Oops, correction. OSX crashed during boot (kernel panic) when trying to start with the settings above. Changed MCH Core back to 1.05 and it started normally. Starting another round ofMPrime with MCH Core of 1.05 and XMP at profile1.

Every board has different settings but I though the UD3P had also 1.0v.
Try also 2.08 DRAM Voltage if it fails again.

If all fail DDR-800 with 4-4-12/10 timings is another option with minimal loss of memory performance, and should be easier to stabilize.

    Chike,

Maybe the 1.0 v MCH Core setting was removed in the new FC bios, but it definitely isn't there. Doesn't look like that's a show stopper though. The test last night failed in about 2.5 hours so this afternoon I changed the Dram voltage to 2.08 as you suggested. So far it's been running 4.5 hours without crashing. At what point should I call it a success?

Also, is there any point in trying to get the two mismatched RAM sets to work together, or am I better off quitting while I'm ahead?

I should have said "So far it's been running MPrime 4.5 hours without crashing."

6-8 hours prime, and then years with no crashing LOL

It may always be a problem even if you had no problems to begin with. 8GB of ram may be a problem by itself even if the kits match. I say quit while you're ahead.

EDIT: make it 8+ hours, then try the things that used to crash, they are what is realy important.
