I was changing some settings you'd recommended wazza and I wasn't sure about which one was which so I've taken shots of the relevant BIOS pages I hope

Makes more sense to let you guys see for yourselves, these are my current settings. Could be a bit jumbled, sorry if so but I hope all the main features are present and readable

dram voltage 1.66,cpu voltage "normal" qpi voltage 1.3000,you could either set bclk with 180x20 or 19x200,with 19x200 you will be able to set your ram multiplier closer to 1600mhz...and to calculate what the uncore is its twice whatever the ram multiplier is and add 1 or 2 to it so if its 10 it will be either 21 or 22 for uncore, just set those things and leave everything elso on auto and enabled...set system performance to standard and put in ram timings

Thanks wazza, hope you won't mind me getting more info- I'll note what I can see for my setting and wait while you check it, to be safe

    dram voltage 1.66

I see that (in my BIOS settings shots) on Auto at 1.500V

    cpu voltage "normal"

Here I see 'CPU Vcore 1.27500V Auto' - is that the setting?

    qpi voltage 1.3000

Here I see 'QPI/Vtt Voltage 1.27500V Auto' - is that the setting?

you could either set bclk with 180x20 or 19x200,with 19x200 you will be able to set your ram multiplier closer to 1600mhz

RAM multiplier means System Memory Multiplier (SPD) I'm thinking? Here is 'Auto, 6.0 8.0 10.0 12.0 14.0 16.0 14.0 16.0 18.0 - and then there may be more multipliers if I'd scrolled down although I don't see a scroll bar there...

I'm not sure if that can be right though, as you said 'ram multiplier closer to 1600mhz' rather than 6.0 8.0 etc

and to calculate what the uncore is its twice whatever the ram multiplier is and add 1 or 2 to it so if its 10 it will be either 21 or 22 for uncore, just set those things and leave everything elso on auto and enabled...set system performance to standard and put in ram timings

    High maintenance I'm being, sorry!

I think I need to find out what the RAM multiplier ('System Memory Multiplier') needs to be set at, and find out where I can see that the RAM multiplier is closer to 1600MHz

Here I see Uncore Clock Ratio which is set on Auto, Uncore Frequency is greyed-out at 3600MHz

Yes I've got two TweakTown forum browsers open with my BIOS settings shots available in the other browser window. Otherwise my head would explode or- something much worse :)

    Much appreciated wazza thanks

yes system memory multiplier is what gives you your ram speed, and for uncore its twice the system memory multiplier and add one to it so if its 8 uncore will be 17

I'm unsure about a couple of things lsd, where I've posted shots of the settings so I hope it's possible to find the settings that need changing, with reference to the BIOS shots (rather than attempting to second-guess anyone's help-info)

I guess I'm saying that being a beginner at overclocking, if I'm unsure about something I tend not to think "He/she must mean this..." - kaboom :)

Running well at the moment, hoping to get temperatures down but the high temperatures aren't causing instability so I'm not rushing into anything- tons of reading up

It would be easier for me and others to help you if you used a template from my signature instead of posting images. The settings in the template are in the same order as in the BIOS.

So what exactly are you still unsure about?

I set as per your template lsd, anything I wasn't quite sure about, I asked again for clarification. That bit turned out to be tricky so I posted the BIOS images

I posted the BIOS images because that's the professional thing to do, there can be no mysteries when we're literally on the same page

Rather than ask for clarification again I mean, not get it, and then feel bad (does one say 'Could you try again please, I didn't understand that' more than once, we'd both be embarrassed and feel awkward, no need for that it's only hardware :) ) because with the BIOS images up there, it's an easy job with any luck for someone to say 'Change this' - with 'this' appearing in the BIOS shots. Which is why I posted them. Rather than spam another thread, can't win, understandable :)

So what exactly are you still unsure about?

See post 33 please, above. I probably need to be looking at/referred to the actual specified setting rather than someone who's familiar with the BIOS' perhaps abbreviated setting- as I don't understand half of them, it would be easy for me to assume something and do something bad, belt and braces

Wow wazza thanks that's very kind of you, much appreciated! Exactly what I've been looking for, apologies for being so demanding. I hope this motherboard will be running for a very long time, along with Win7. I might be up for a graphics card update next year (in case my wife is reading I never said that) but I love this motherboard :)

I'm pretty sure I've posted shots above of my memory sticks, but you might not have been meaning me in the shot, it's-

    OCZ Gold 6GB DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz

-shots below, in and out of the case, got only one side of the stick though. The other side is simply a metal sheet/heatsink assembly with no ID

Working on this I've discovered the Libraries function in Win7 btw, awesome

Thanks again wazza and lsdmeasap, awesome2 support
