    Hello all,
    Status Report:

I did a full, clean install of Win 7. Just as predicted, the RAID array was recognized and the install went very well. Matrix Manager is also installed.

    All's good in the world...almost.

    One question:
After the install, I threw in an additional 2GB OCZ Reaper RAM, for a total of 4GB. The system properties recognizes all 4, but it reports only 3 being usable. I thought 32 bit Windows 7 was good for 4GBs. Am I wrong or is there a setting somewhere?

Thanks again for all the help,
    Bill

AFAIK 32 bit os can recognise max of 4GB ram, but deducts video ram, so somewhere between 3 and 3.5 will show.

Only 64 bit properly recognises 4GB+

Ya, Vista/Windows 7 will see/show all 4GB but if you are using a 32 bit OS then you will always only be able to use 4GB minus your GFX Card memory amount and then a little more sometimes. Normally, as said above, for a 32 bit system you will only be able to use 3-3.25GB depending on hardware

I dug around and came up with the same answers. I shoulda known that.

About the only hardware I have on the MB are my HD3870 GFX cards. I see ATI has a 64 bit drvier. Is there anything on the MB that wouldn't play nicely with Win 7/64 bit?

As far as peripherals, I have a scanner and a coupla printers, but I'm pretty sure Epson has 64 bit drivers.

    Thanx,
    Bill

Nope, x64 will work just fine for you. Most programs that you do not find a x64 driver for will install fine anyway into a x86 folder and use 32bit drivers. So you should not have any issues
